Stockholm anyone?
Hello,
Long time reader, but very occasional poster here.
Has anyone ever been to Stockholm? I'm going this weekend and have fuck all idea what to do, other than pack lots of warm clothes.
Any suggestions as what to do ? Any must see things? must avoid?
Is it really as scarily expensive as people at work would have me believe?

How
and where? Other than here of course....
I paid £7.20 for a double whiskey and coke last night,
and I'm in London. It can be pricey there but not moreso than some places in uk.
PACK WARM CLOTHES IT WILL BE COLD!
Tips!

Don't buy chocolate
it's really expensive and you'll cry
but what about Plopp?
jk.... we bought it for novelty value and it was gross.
yes! i went in July and had a great time
it's worth getting one of the stockholm cards as it covers public transport and admission to most attractions (we saved load of money with it)
this site is good: http://www.visitstockholm.com/en/
Here is what I recommend:
go to Gamla Stan - really lovely part of the city
go to the Vasa Museum http://vasamuseet.se/en/
go to Skansen (wear comfortable shoes) and Djurgarden whilst you're there
take a boat trip to the achipalago
i don't think you can really go wrong - it's a great city. most places sell beer / cider for about £6 - £6.50 a pint. If you're eating out we found meals averaged about £15 per person (one course, drinks on top of that) but everything we ate was excellent.
also useful to know - if you plan on buying your own alcohol (to save money - our hotel didn't mind us drinking cans in the garden!) you will need ID to buy it regardless of your age. Also, because of strict licensing laws there are very few off licences or 'Systembolaget' (other shops can sell alcoholic drinks with less than 3.5%) so you'll have to do your research.
yeah pretty much all this
I went for three days in August, it's a lovely city. Vasa and Skansen are well worth chunks of your day. And it's a great place to just walk around, especially around the harbour and old town at night. Also try to meet some Swedish people who will take you to cool places and get you drunk, we rather inadvertently did this on our first night there and it was awesome.
Everything's freakishly expensive so, erm, just try not to eat and drink too much, or just give into the prices, depending on how your finances are. Had to go more with the former myself.
And here's the thread of suggestions I got before I went: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4301291
