I also pay into a scholarship fund which supports poor students at my old uni with extra funding. It was the only reason I could afford to go, so I feel I should give something back.

We looked into it and in order to pay out £1000 a year and be self sufficent yet safe the endowment has to be enormous, so we've put the idea on the back burner for now until the banker and the hedgefunder have made their millions.
