Maris in Frasier.
Wilson in Home Improvements.
ARE YOU SURE? I thought you only saw the back of his head.
TECHNICALLY, you see the side of his face. So I'm going to file this under 'Dignity retained'.
Not sure this thread has legs.
I'm having Steinbrenner from Seinfeld.
Otherwise: Elizabeth Mainwaring
I liked the one where he was doing a self portrait and Tim asked to have a look. Is this the moment we finally see Wilson, we ask? No! He's only painted the top half of his face! D'oh!
Good, Merry Christmas George. And bring me back some of those cigars in the cedar boxes, you know the ones with the fancy rings? I love those fancy rings. They kind of distract you while you're smoking. The red and yellow are nice. It looks good against the brown of the cigar. The Maduro, I like the Maduro wrapper. The darker the better, that's what I say. Of course, the Claro's good too. That's more of a pale brown, almost like a milky coffee. I find the ring size very confusing. They have it in centimeters which I don't really understand that well...
but all of the credit went to that idiot cunt Gadget. What a prick. The injustice of it all.
but my friend Bethan works for a radio production company that helps out with I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. She occasionally sits in on recordings and makes notes - meaning she IS the glamorous Samantha (I think she also responds to fan mail as Samantha too, though I'd have to double check that).
What with it being a radio programme and all (pedantry alert).
According to wiki, 'The silence of the character Pru Forrest became a long-running joke "with scriptwriters competing to invent more outlandish excuses for her failure to speak." She was eventually given a dramatic eruption of speech when Terry Wogan appeared on the soap'.
The teacher from Peanuts
^The teacher from Peanuts inventing dubstep.
until Tarantino debunked it.
The diamonds is a good theory as well though - he did include a reference to True Romance in Reservoir Dogs so he's open to referencing his own films.
I don't know where I'm getting this from.
but in Reservoir Dogs, Mr White's (Harvey Keitel's) reference to having previously working with someone called 'Alabama' is apparently a reference to Tarantino's original script of True Romance. Or so I am led to believe.
Tarantino's confirmed that Vincent Vega (Pulp Fiction) is Vic Vega's (Reservoir Dogs) brother, and that he wanted to do a prequel movie about them a while back (but now they're too old).
Tarantino's films all interlink in a far more mental way than that, though. The Bear Jew (real name: Donny Donowitz) in Inglourious Basterds is the father of Lee Donowitz in True Romance, and Alabama in True Romance is mentioned as a former partner of Mr White's in Reservoir Dogs. Apparently all his films link together in ways like this, all part of an alternate history where the Allies killed Hitler in a movie theatre in WWII.
Lomez, Corky Ramirez, Doug the cop and Jay Riemenschneider
Lomez is Jewish?
and Kramer says they say the same thing about Jerry.
Blows my mind <3
Maybe they are.
WHY WOULD THEY NEED A BASE?
Which changed your voice to sound like the Mysterons whilst projecting those light rings.
Captain Scarlet was the shit.
staring captain janeway
but was otherwise never seen:
in muppet babies with stripey socks
Is Chinese Alan in Gavin & Stacey unseen? He might just be part of the general bunch of friends.
The joke is he isn't Chinese. Just a take away delivery driver or something.
(or do we see him?)
I don't think we do see Lamp.
we see someone
I watched it last night. Can't have been paying attention.
and gets ignored - I think he shouts 'Geoff Lamp!' at him
I'm always getting them confused.
I’ve seen Dr Claws arms, I think that gives a pretty good clue as to what the rest of him looks like. Anyone who wears giant iron wrist spikes and a gauntlet to watch TV isn’t likely to have a floppy Beatles haircut and a smiling face
Could be what his PhD was in.
Not actually that unseen at all - there's a toy you can buy of him.
that's not him
What's he called - the other one: Balonz.
Bamnan. That's the fella.
How did I miss that? She's not a teenager, SHE'S THE DEVIL IN AN A-CUP!
Mork calling Orson, come in Orson
Garfield in Garfield minus Garfield.
Obviously he becomes a main character in season 2 onwards, but the way everyone talks about him in these hushed tones of what a bad ass make him seem fucking amazing
One who's done really well for herself?
But apparently she appears briefly in the last series.
Sheridan is an interesting character: Hyacinth also tries to impress people with the intellectual prowess of her beloved, but unseen, son Sheridan (he takes courses in needlework at a polytechnic), inviting the derision of those she is desperately trying to impress. She often begins the stories with "I'm sure you've heard about Sheridan" to which the listener responds "frequently". Sheridan makes frequent phone calls from his polytechnic asking for money, much to the despair of Richard. It is also implied many times throughout the series that Sheridan, who lives with a man named Tarquin (who makes his own curtains, wears silk pyjamas, and has won prizes for embroidery), is gay. Hyacinth, however, seems blissfully oblivious to the fact.
That story about touching the nerve in his finger sent shivers down my spine
Only in one episode, mind.
in My So Called Life
Hitler? Any relation?
Well, I've got a mother.
No, to Adolf?
Yes that's her!
in dads army, you see her legs at one point (from behind) coming down the stairs
'army' because i thought that we might not all be consistant in spelling mainwaring.
I did the same to thewarn
and I'd do it again
Maybe this is a sign that I need to crack out the anecdote about Mr Mainwaring being based on one of my relatives.
I don't know who he was or anything. My Grandpa's cousin, maybe? It might not be true.
From Abigail's Party.
one of the few redeeming features of Fresh Meat
The fact he's present in Vol 2 kinda ruins his mystery for me.
in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.
Even the honey thread got 100 posts.
Come on guys, it's ME.
When it was good
Until they showed him that is >:(
Dimitri the Russian Premier in Dr Strangelove.
the one that was a homage to Frasier, the original idea was to have a character called Maris make a brief cameo but the Frasier creators insisted they didn't and replaced it with the 'Guess who?.... Maris' joke with Bart.
Kriss Akabusi's wife in that video where he's boiling an egg.

who's apparently called "Mammy Two Shoes"
but will offer Reclusive Author Thomas Pynchon in The Simpsons instead. I absolutely love the fact that Pynchon really is a reclusive author who doesn't give interviews and there aren't many photos of him around either, but he does his own voice in The Simpsons.
