it doesn't feel like I'm walking when I am walking... the worst case was when I went to Sainsburys just 2 weeks ago and it felt so strange to walk that I didn't even feel like I was on this planet. I can't describe the feeling at all, but it was very disorientating and has happened to me 3 times in my life.
The enzyme that metabolises alcohols is more efficient at dealing with ethanol than other alcohols, so putting more of that in your system stops it from metabolising e.g. methanol to formaldehyde, or ethylene/propylene glycol (antifreeze) to nastier things. While it's doing that, you hopefully excrete (breathe, sweat, pisss) out some of the other stuff before your body gets a chance to metabolise them and worsen your hangover.
This is also why if you accidentally or otherwise ingest a large amount of methanol or antifreeze you'll be prescribed a bottle of vodka to drink.
You need some bloody mary's and fried food pronto!
Bloody Mary (or two) = best cure for a hangover ever
The worst level of hangover is just a bit less than the point where you'd need your stomach pumped.
Horrible.

why does noone ever think of having one single solitary beer the morning after?
VOILA, normal again.
Amateurs.
I feel less unbalanced
but the hangover kicks in even more brutal then it was originally after an hour I've finnished
A contributing factor is dealing with "congeners" - non (ethyl) alcohol stuff that makes you feel rotten
