The gift of re-gifting
So for my birthday, my dear sweet Father (who has no clue about buying gifts and once bought me a hairdryer for my 18th Birthday) bought me a weird silver tea pot with a curly handle.
Though I appreciate the gesture it is definitely not something I will use. Ever.
Reasons:
- I don't drink tea. Don't even like the stuff (which he is well aware of - at least I thought he was after all those years raising me)
- It's really not the nicest looking tea pot
That all being said, I am having a guilt dilema. Do I keep the darn thing, which will just take up space in my cupboard and probably would be given away years down the line anyway.
Or, re-gift it?
Have you ever re-gifted a gift?
Does it curtail the guilt, as I am hopefully putting a genuine smile on the face of a more suited recipient?
