and scores of people reply saying 'idont think this is intended for me'.
hilarious. every time.
and someone else relies to all saying 'i agree'
We have an entertainment team, who (surprise surprise) handle all the entertainment requests, tickets etc.
Office wide email goes out "tickets available for Disney on ice" etc etc and about one in five of these is reply all'd, much to the hilarity of the whole office.
We had to let the in house juggling team go when Lehman Brothers went to shit :(
We got a company-wide email telling everyone to gather on one of the floors because they were going to present her with a farewell gift and she was going to make a speech.
My boss sent a really obviously sarcastic "OH THAT SOUNDS GREAT FUN" to everyone when he just meant to send it to the guys on his team. The best bit was that some people thought he was sincere about it and pushed him to the front so he was even more awkward.
where a Director's PA accidently sent her wedding photos as JPEG attachments to 1500 people, and crashed the server for a couple of hours. It was funny at the time.
He send it back to confirm but accidentally send it to our whole editorial list. Cue dozens of REQUEST DENIED emails from all over.
Who the f*** does this slacker think he is?
you're a journalist right?
he send it...?
ug me write words ug
A guy did a quip about the offisde rule and how women were 'offside' when they werent in the kitchen - little picture on paint and everything. Saw him being transferred out in tears about 10 minutes later

and then decided to have general chit chat. We always reply saying 'Stop copying us into these shit emails' BUT THEY STILL DO.
The worst thing I keep getting is that there is someone in my company with the same last name and their first name is Steven. I keep getting emails meant for him and he keeps getting emails meant for me so we have to forward them onto each other. He replied to one of my forwarded emails one day and said 'I had somenoe email me trying to chat me up but I just deleted it as I thought it was meant for you' CHEERS. I think it may actually be my dad.
My dad is trying to stop other people chatting me up.
but she'd copied in about 200 other developers and not hidden them via BCC. So for the next hour there were loads of prickly IT dweebs giving it `what ever happened to DATA PROTECTION???!!!!11` and `waaaaaaaaa my human rights` and stuff. But then after a while it turned to `Hey leave the girl alone` and `anyone can make a mistake`. I found the girl on LinkedIn and she was blonde and rather easy on the eye so I can only assume they'd all done the same.
Hey ANOTHER great story from me.
God I'm dull.
Is the greatest example of this, ever: http://www.metafilter.com/78177/PLEASE-UNSUBSCRIBE-ME-FROM-THIS-LIST#2408665
it's amazing - just days and days of chaos!
Man those seem like innocent times now.

so if you reply to a #nat-allstaff one, you're truly, truly fucked (not least for all of the 'read recipts' and 'out of office' replies that hit your inbox). also, the north american tradition is that whenever anybody leaves the firm for whatever reason, no matter how treacherous or despicable, their boss send an email which reads a bit about their obituary, referenicng their family, leisrure pursuits, and exhorting everybody to join in wishing them all the best for the future. there's always at least one clown who cannot resist making a quip and whose own obituary coincidentally appears a month ro so later.
it said this:
Please be noted, the problems with external mail recipients has not been resolved still. Third weeks I have the problem with sending E-mails when recipients didn’t receive important HSE correspondence.
Could've been HIGHLY SECRET OR SOMETHING. But it was pretty much exactly what you'd have expected it to be; something about supporting disability/blindness rights in developing countries(my MP is big on International Development).
With a "NOBODY GO OUTSIDE, THERE ARE ANIMAL RIGHTS PROTESTORS AT THE GATES, STAY INSIDE" warning. You'd think it'd be easy to tell by having a look but at least a few of the UK sites I knew of (mine included) were deliberately set a good distance back from the road to keep it prying eyes.
That caused some confusion.
