Wealoldstone 0-2 Hendon
really impressed with the way they play, high pressure up the pitch and lovely slick passing moves. Pilkington and - especially - Elliott Bennett were good on the wings. Sunderland did look a bit one-paced and lightweight though. remember when Stephane Sessegnon looked like he'd be a really good signing? distant days
that said, last ten minutes Norwich were about as composed as a blank piece of sheet music
They'll be comfortably midtable/top half if they appoint somebody vaguely competent before it's too late.
the man has spent oodles of money on players he then only succeeds in alienating, rebuilding almost every year to no great effect. Quinn'll be off in the next few weeks and dinner lady will be out on his ear shortly after.
ever since the days of Ken Brown in charge. Lambert looks a shrewd boss with a good eye for a player.
had the worst game I've ever seen a pro footballer have I think. I almost felt sorry for him but then remembered he's a bit of a prick so just laughed every time he fucked up.
The search is on for new sponsors of the Football League Cup after talks with Molson Coors concluded without agreement being reached
Theo's out for Champion's League this week and maybe Spurs on Sunday. This means Arshavin starting both, which for him equals approx 6 minutes of running in 4 days, way too much.
On the plus side, our massive wage bill will be going down soon as nobody wants to renew their contract.
wilshere will be back to help us lose to barcelona in february.
so now's the time to start bagging :)
All i can think is bound for the bound bound for the reload
Apparently Bayern have been in shit-hot form, so it should be a good one.
said they've won their last 9, scoring 26 in the process and conceding none. Should be a belter.
Which will be nice as everytime I've seen him in the last couple of years he's looked a bit poo.
the first true test for both of them, winning could be a big extra-boost for either one. it'll be 1-1 though.
for a neutral, this is the biggest, most interesting game of the season so far, and I guess it comes down to who will defend tougher. surely wont be a question of either one lacking in attacking power.
Zurich - 2-0
Hamburg - 5-0
Zurich - 1-0
Kaiserslautern - 3-0
Freiburg - 7-0
Villareal - 2-0
Schalke - 2-0
Leverkusen - 3-0
Could've been 10
even despite their bonkers fans having a massive grudge against him, whereby they refuse to let him join in their celebrations.
the article hints that he in particular did something while at schalke to really piss them off but doesnt say what. what did he do?
in a match against Bayern Munich.
he swore to be "in his heart always a schalke player" or something similar. you can understand the reaction in a way cause the rivalry is pretty strong.
Lost 6-0 at Newport County and had 6 men dismissed during the game.
Early on at 0-0, two Bath players were sent to change their undershorts (wrong colour) and while they were doing so Newport scored. A fight ensued and both the manager and a sub were sent off. Three more red cards in open play, then the keeper after the final whistle.
If and when it is deemed to be appropriate to make further statement on the match we will publish it here on bathcityfc.com
I'm not reposting that.
Due to... the fact that the vast majority of the players in the match are under 18, we will not do so at this time.
I got a mention from Bob Stanley on Twitter last night referencing football. I love that guy.
on top of rafael, vidic, evans and smalling in defensive and a few others elsewhere. could be carrick cb, as i cant see ferdinand playing thrice in eight days.
Tonight's game is going to be boring – I'm warning you, neutrals. I hope Welbeckinho starts.
This time something about access rights and Underhill not having a safety certificate for 2013. I smell Tony Kleanthous setting the scene for a move to Prince Edward Playing Fields in the next couple of years.
I'd thought that too. Seems the obvious move for him / Barnet to make. Everything's pretty much in place for them...
that means barnet will basically be playing on my old sunday league pitch. hallowed turf indeed.
and I don't think it's outside the realms of possibility at all. They need centre-backs, and why not Gary Cahill?
but come on. Come on.
what a partnership him and Pique would have been..
It's pretty good if you don't have the inclination for fantasy football and you can join any time without missing out.
Jonas Gutierrez has signed a new 4 year deal. Cheers.
not sure about this one. Obviously for a creative midfield player he creates next to nothing, but he does have a great work ethic and at least provides some energy to a midfield that not so long ago featured Nicky Butt as the standout player.
I know non Newcastle fans who really rate him oddly enough, but like Kuyt I suppose whom I really like but always slagged off by Liverpool fans...
He doesn't provide great threat, but covers for the defence (needed with Ryan Taylor still at left back). He's probably one of the reasons we have a good defensive record atm, especially against good teams last season when we were less good at keeping the ball overall, he is a defensive winger really, quite unusual.
His passing is pretty good, except into the box, that said since he can hold up the ball if Cabaye or Tiote makes himself available behind it's not a terrible set up.
Very glad we've got him, thin squad and enough reinforcements are needed elsewhere that I'm glad we don't need to overly worry about left winger anyway. Marveaux will probably become first choice but he's injury prone, and I'd prefer Marveaux against teams with weak defences he can run at, and Guti against stronger teams where he can take pressure off defence.
rooney's out so my ff team requires a big forward swap.
• Real Madrid v Ajax – Real
• Man Utd v Basel – Man U
• Lyon v Dinamo Zagreb – Lyon
• Brighton v Crystal Palace – Brighton
• Derby v Barnsley – Derby
• Luton v Cambridge Utd – Luton
• Rangers v Kilmarnock – Rangers
I have a feeling we might beat Real Madrid tonight.
had a great time, was in with the Ultras at Stuttgart, they lost 2-1 though :/ was better at schalke who won 4-2. Great bit of skill in a couple of the goals, cant youtube at work but its worth checking out. then sunday at Bochum, again in with the home fans in the standing area, who won 2-1 with a last minute winner. German crowds are great.
I'd love to go watch a german footy match.
What about the sausage train?!
Said we wouldnt be able to make it to St Pauli, he's a vegetarian though.. so may be he feared the train.
Maybe next time though.
the fottage is dodgy but all I could find at work.
can also see mancini putting everyone behind the ball and grinding out a boring 0-0
Lyon, the rag, Napoli, Real and deby to win - @13/2
I'm looking at you Philip lahm, bastian scweinsteiger and Paul scholes.
he'll be disappointed with that
GIVE IT TO ME!
shambolic defending from Utd here. RIP Rio.
but fuck me we've been atrocious since half-time. They deserve to be in front. Laughable.
oh antonio :'D
some shambolic defending. that wasnt a penalty, but still. shocking.
valencia went straight through the back of him.
and Evra's having a nightmare. Jones keeps getting sucked out of position to cover the massive holes Evra's leaving behind.
here comes the Berb to provide some dynamism.
KiK was right. This is an absolute merking. Boys against men.
this ref likes to get involved
sounds like a bit of a tool.
Drew tonight with Lille
One on the tele one on the laptop.
Manchester wank wank wank.
what a joke.
You bought him - what were you thinking?
look who comes out of the fucking woodwork the second we lose
bit of a diappointment all in all.
what is this, Star Wars?
As i said, bit disappointing.
you'll do well domestically this season, shame you're not converting that on the bigger stage. Shame.
you're just not ready yet.
