i got 13
I didn't/don't get the last one.
Yeah, I probably should've got that. Oh well. Can I go to posh school now plz?
Daddy! I'm not so stupid!
I got 6.
Got a maths (loose description there) one wrong. I aced the maths paper when I was 11, so I must be more stupid now than I was 18 years ago.
Most of the Grammar schools left must be in Kent. We seemed to have loads.
BUT i still don't understand the text one. the answer didn't explain it either.
Three of the four words are given in code. The codes are not written in the same order as the words and one code is missing.
TEAM MALE MAST LEST
6245 5326 1345
Find the codes for the words
Answer: 45331 (S=4 T=5 E=3 E=3 L=1)
Answer: 52453 (T=5 A=2 S=4 T=5 E=3)
How? I don't understand.
whereas it's actually that the 3 codes are correct, but you don't know which words they're for. Then it's just simple codebreaking - I think the way I started it was to see that two of the words ended with T and two of the codes ended with 5, so T=5, and so on to get L=1, A=2, 3=E, 4=S, 6=M.
Had to read most of them at least 3 times over.
that's poorly written. i thought that the word TEAM aligned with 6245 and was so confused as to why in MALE the letter E wasn't 2, but instead 6.
I hate tests like these. I am good at them, but it is not a sign of intelligence. Especially when the questions are worded as obtusely as they are.
that prepares you well for meetings with people like my boss though.
Why work out the original code if you then ask to break another code?! Doesnt make any frikkin sense
It's the same code...
No wonder it didnt make sense. 14/15 no idea about the last one. Got data management on it aswell, who dont know. Which is terrifying
Ive worked it out. No need to panic
I was the only one that 'got into Grammar school'. Then my teacher told me I probably would't have anyway because I was a GIRL. And also because I was 18 at the time. And also because we don't have them any more.
Unless it was a test for a boys' school.
I think it was one from well back in the day and we were basing it on when the North East actually had grammar schools, which were more likely to take in lower performing boys or something.
But I don't know, I didn't listen in sociology. I just went along cos sometimes we got free sweets.
She also taught politics. I took sociology and politics.
I HAVE NO TEETH.
and I went to a comprehensive. fuck you, selective education!
I did take a guess at the last question though.
I thought they were on the whole fairly straightforward, that said:
a) I went to a grammar school (a very shit one, but still...)
b) I applied to be a trainee air traffic controller, had to do shit loads of tests, including stuff like these, which I passed at a canter. I got as far as an interview (after three rounds of testing) which is when I bottled it :/
honestly i'd love to be a ATC but i just don't have the problem solving skills to manage it
that last one involved too much thinking so I just guessed.
14, didn't get my head round the very last one though.
and I couldn't do the last one.
I got an A 11 years ago and I swear it was much easier.
and I went to a grammar school so I havent got stupider which is good
16 17 18 18 20 19
* * * 22
Thats how I worked it out as 17, 18 & 19 are part of a 'different' set
Top of the class!
You've scored 14 out of 15.
should have got the last one. hopefully theyll be taking the 11+ without pokemon open
I feel well clever
Took me about five minutes to understand what I needed to do on the first question then ended up guessing on a couple near the end cos I was running out of time. I'm a fucking genuine mong.
