For some reason I can't think of any.
was bloody depressing
massively ill befitting that imdb "woman urinating" viral thing that went round a while ago.
glad you knew what i meant!
for some reason my mum used to make me watch this film all the time, great film but not exactly uplifting for a young boy - probably why i was so in to pink floyd back then though
I don't think I could stand to watch it. Just too much.
god knows what they were thinking in retrospect
this looks like the saddest thing ever :(
made in the sixties but banned from TV for twenty years while we were trying to patch things up with the Russians. When things went bad again, BOOM! Out it came
its not specific but pretty much
people use that word wrong all the time.
Tweezer, that was Threads
Watching it tomorrow at a Russian film festival http://russianresurrection.com.au/2011/innocentsaturday
and then read On The Beach and cry
It instructed you how to make a bomb shelter in your front room, then said you'd survive for exactly 40 seconds, cheers.
Also a scene with a pumpkin being decimated by flying glass, cut in with images of a human face?
I wish i knew what that was called, it scared the shit out of me in school, I think I need to watch it again for closure.
How To Survive Armageddon
Not sure if I should watch this before bed :/
possibly one of the best films ever made
I haven't seen it, but heard it's ok.
the end is a bit hysterical, from what i remember.
But I saw a film on TV late at night a couple of years back about a tornado hitting a nuclear plant starring Zack from Saved By The Bell and Carl Lewis, yes, that Carl Lewis, as a janitor.
Google search tells me it was this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_Twister
Pretty incredible stuff.
love this film
I think it has everything that a hollywood blockbuster needs.
I cna't remember what it's called :(
Whilst googling for it though I came across a short film about scrabble and nuclear war http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90SIuISIVB8
set in a small town in Kansas that suddenly gets cut off from the outside world when suitcase nukes are detonated in about thirty major American cities. sadly they coupled the GRIM DARK DARKNESS of post-nuclear life with a stupid conspiracy/spy plot that eventually took over, before it got cancelled, but there's a lot of good stuff in there.
But the best thing about it was that when the cancellation was first announced fans sent 20 tons of nuts to the studio headquarters!
there's a comic book continuation of it, they've published one volume / six issues so far. It's ok.
it's more post-apocalyptic .
Not as grim as Threads due to it's general hammy TV-movie atmosphere and godawful special effects, but John Lithgow just about holds it together & the post-boom bits are better than the start due to the whole, 'what do we do now' aspect
