People leave them unattended all the time
for "cautionary tale" reasons more than anything else.
I tried a £300 coat on in a shop once. It was awesome but I wouldn't have bought it.
I felt so extravagent
This year I'll probably spend £0 as that one is still good apart from one button popping off.
what kind of coat are we talking about here? Winter coat? Light jacket? Dog?
I once asked me what I thought of his bag... he was actually talking about Christian Bale's performance as Batman.
I'd go as high as £150 given I'd use it almost every day for 6 months, and get about 3 years use out of it. No point looking like a scrote with that much usage. You can't put a price on dapperness
I'm looking into getting a £150 at the monent.
I hate it when I agree with Lucien.
You should get a kite.
and told them their son was dead.
I didn't like doing it but I can't be walking around with this kind of rage inside.
I don't really buy expensive clothes unless it's things that I think will last for a long time and not go out of fashion. A good winter coat for work or more formal types of thing is a good example of this, and I'd excpect to get 2-3 years out of a decent coat. I've spent a ridiculous amount once before because i had a windfall of cash to spend, but nomrally I'm talking around £100-150.
DISREGARD FROM SAMPLE
The irony is, I REALLY need new work shoes as I've realised (since the recent inclement weather) that I don't own any which don't have holes in them.
You, madam, are a gross statistical aberration. There I said it
See, it's getting better, yeah? (also, as previously explained a lot are running related footwear- no point lugging those between scotland and london and so keep a pair in each location. Also, need lots of boots for winter and pug walking. Lots. Flats for walking to work. Smart heels for work. GOING OUT shoes for the weekend, and so on. It's exhausting.)
If you're going to spend money on an item of clothing, it might as well be the one your wear every day. If I had a decent salary, I'd go up to £200. Right now, my budget only stretches to a de-bobbler to salvage last years second hand one. But if I had the money, I'd spend it.
I'd just like to point out he walked around with holes in his trousers for SOME TIME.
Or ones where he was unintentionally showing off a bit of frank and a side of beans?
You have met foodbag, haven't you?
I don't remember this. You're confusing me with bamos, which is, quite frankly, weird.
No, no, no. Definitely you.
Bamos' jeans were beyond ripped. I don't like to think about this.
though I imagine paying a bit extra is worth it for the durability, plus a winter coat is something you'd get a lot of wear out of.
You can have that one if you like?
Plus Bamos and me have worn it.
You're not someone I trust with clothes.
Got a really nice one last year and have missed wearing it. COME ON AUTUMN YA SHIT.
Had a nice Uni Qlo pea coat for the last couple of years, getting a bit tatty though, think its time to change it :(
My rich arab mate buys Dior coats. They are phenomenal but cost like £700+...utter insanity
Alternatively...I spent £220 on a cashmere winter coat 10 years ago which I still wear, so that has represented pretty good value.
Altho looking back, fuck knows where I rustled up £220 from 10 years back.
but it's amazing.
It's an Etnies "ski jacket" that is stuffed with goose down and is one of the warmest things I've ever owned. Even last winter when it was -6 outside I had to unzip it because I was getting too warm walking around town :)
However, last year I did buy a really nice Diesel coat worth about £300 as I was sick of having shit, rubbish winter coats that leaked / were cold / looked rubbish.
It's been worth it. I don't wear it to gigs or football obviously but it's so great. I genuinely don't fear winter any more.
Plus, I think women can 'smell' that it costs loads. Several of my friends commented on me getting checked out a bit more when I wore it.
Or at least lusted after briefly by attractive commuters who mistakenly think I have money...
(Also, this was pre-ring)
nothing is worth more than that
Totally worth it for the sunshine and puuuussssaaaayyyyy action.
