Good morning. Have hardly slept a wink. It looks cold outside.
How are y'all?
and good, just put Ronnie on the bus to go to school...very odd 'letting go' feeling as I drove him yesterday for first day
Vincent also has a full day at nursery today which leaves me with the delights of ironing and washing and all that fun stuff...
Wlel this is embarrasing.
Ronnie and Vincent are excellent names. I can imagine it's hard 'letting go' on their first day of school, I bet you felt proud seeing him in his school uniform though.
and yes, it's the bus thing that is a bit odd, placing him in a classroom with a teacher was fine!
he looks pretty swish even if I have to wrestle with him each morning as he shouts YOU'RE CHOKING ME! I CAN'T BREATHE URGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH to do up his top button
pic if you like, one sec http://twitpic.com/6gtc79
He looks cheeky.
Nice piano. Your house is so clean!
and thank you!
Also, don't do his top button up, poor boy. :(
might try tomorrow...
Love how he appears to be hammering home a point on the piano with his fist! LIKE A BOSS
I just made one too, sorry :(
The virgins are going to bed/school right now, fool.
I am on my way into the office even though I'm still super super ill but I cannt afford to take another day off (sucks being a temp)
I'm hoping I'll get sent to work at home and that way I'll still get paid for the day.
Get some warm clothes on it's bloody freezing. i just went outside to get my washing and my underwear has blown in to the garden next door. Arhghghghghghghg
Today is not starting good.
like that character from south park.
If the latter break out Paracetamol and Ibuprofen and spread the seven total doses you're allowed out over the day.
and a cough and some really bad sinus pains :(
I can't go home as the other girl is leaving at 1 to prep for her boyfs trial tomorrow.
i'm sleeping terribly too. idk if it's because it's noisier, i'm in a different bed/room/flat, the mattress and pillows are shit, or a combination.
today i have to go and officially move to austria by signing forms that i can't understand. then open a bank account. it's gonna be the tricky, i think i'm going to take my pocket dictionary.
Who are you be living with?
or at least, a lot better than i ever would have expected. turns out that i can (at least at a basic level) communicate my thoughts fairly clearly to people, which has been a huuuuuuuuge confidence booster.
i'm living with two girls, they're both students. considering i just found them on the austrian version of gumtree, it's going well so far, they're really lovely <3
'sup witchoo? I saw Kurt Vile and Woods last night. Woods played a 5 minute 'sitar' solo in the last song that was so bad it had my friend and I crying with laughter. Still overall, a good gig.
I'm going to my friend's for tea tonight, it's back in Altrincham where I'm from, and I always feel a bit depressed when I go back there. It's the most mundane suburban backdrop to a childhood EVER.
this is worse than the period thread
whenever i post here do people start asking me who i am?
and do you get internet access?
i'm not that rapist guy.
but now the plughole in the bath is blocked! D:
gonna meet a friend and watch ENGERLAND tonight.
Then idk, buy some mr muscle or something.
Had a call from my mum just after I'd gone to bed last night to say that my dad had collapsed in pain and was being taken off in an ambulance. I was wide awake with worry, I spent half the night cleaning the flat just for something to do. Thankfully he's just been discharged and apparently they can't find anything wrong. Although I can't help but think that something must be or it wouldn't have happened.
I can hardly keep my eyes open at the moment. And if today is anything like yesterday, I'll have to spend half my day being nice to pro lifers ringing up about the Dorries amendment this afternoon.
In more mundane news, I've decided that one sausage and two fried eggs is nicer than two sausages and one fried egg.
hope they're right.
So, when eaten with two hash brows as well, the meat / egg / potato ratio is better at 1/2/2 than 2/1/2.
He should go and see his GP to talk through what happened and make sure this is followed up properly.
Straight to bed for you after work1
(I prefer a high egg :sausage ratio too btw. Blatant lesbianism, so it is.)
hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it.
(Yeah, eggs over sausages any day :) )
I like veggie burgers though, especially Cauldron's mushroom ones.
Very little to report match wise, lost 4 -3 and only one incident of handbags 'what you got then?' etc. Rugby training in what looks like being piss pouring rain tonight, bit of work and will be giving my emusic purchases a spin (Forest Swords and Fennesz).
It's taking a while to get through.
Had my 3rd class of BMF last night. I am really enjoying it.
Also watched Princess Bride for the first time last night. I really enjoyed it.
Muddy muddy muddy.
Though the worst part about training in a park was demonstrated last night when a girl in my group rolled into a mound of dog poo. Poor girl. She smelt so bad you could see people's eyes watering when they had to pair up with her. Could only imagine the journey home being even more unpleasant.
I had a couple of classes where people put their hands in some (never me luckily) but the instructors always had wet wipes to get it off. I guess if you roll in it there's not much a wet wipe will do. Poor girl. It's bad enough travelling back covered in mud, but in that... eugh.
if you're leopard crawling in the dark, you're screwed.
Last winter I started to prefer it in the dark - there's a lot fewer people around so you don't get gawped at. All the ground exercises are pretty much the same whether it's light or not. The only thing that I found a lot harder was running down hill - something about the darkness made me always think I was going to fall over.
that is GRIM
the rest of the day will be fine
I also have my review in an hour, eep.
I had a brilliant italian meal last night- Involtini and a DOP mozzarella pizza. YUM. Today I'm gong to look at some holiday destinations and try to ignore the fact that it seems to be full-on winter outside. have sent the bf off to work wearing his Christmas cradigan, awwww <3
I do corporate law, not litigation.
It's something that's been mooted sporadically in various jurisdictions, and obviously, they have them in the US (OJ Simpson, winona ryder trials, etc). My gut reaction is that it's a terrible idea- it could intimidate witnesses, encourage even more horribly mawkish behaviour form the already-increasingly-ghoulish british public, and I can't see how it will help serve the ends of justice. I'll ask my dad what he thinks- he's a Rumpole of the Bailey type :)
What will all those artists do if cameras are installed?
Of course, there's the possibility of pay per viewing 'important' or 'newsworthy' trials, so some enterprising media conglomerate will likely have looked into this already and put their lobbyist hats on and had a word in the right lug holes.
I was shocked to find I was sad to see them go. Apparently 26 is the age when youy start apprciating your parents again.
Today is going to be a good day, I have decided.
I'd consider them amongst my best friends now, and any 'fantasy dinner party' line up would definitely include them.
I don't think I'm built for the commute. May have to seriously consider the move to London.
The general sentiment was, please do come to London to live, that would be nice :)
But on the plus side I'd see all you lot more than once in a blue moon! :)
I'm currently considering Hither Gren as I have a few friends who live there and the commute to London Bridge (which is where my company is re-locating to) would be pretty short. I've actually looked at Greenwich too, but think I'll get less for my money there... hmmmm
Is there not a direct train line of First capital connect from brighton straight into LBG?
so when my company is moved there, that commute might be a bit better - i.e. one train and no faffing. I'm a 20 min walk from Brighton station at the moment though...could do with being a bit closer to shave some time off the commute.
Hither Green would be like 18 minutes on the train to London Bridge my mate reckons. I like the sound of that!
you'd suit one, big american job with the high handle bars
Brighton to London on a MOTORBIKE. Have you seen the weather today?!
A motorbike would definitely help advance my mid-life crisis now my band has split up though :)
still, you could definitely pull off a helmet ;)
cause my office is like on top of that.
I get the train from Brighton to East Croydon, and then the tram round to Beckenham.
Come November time, I should be training it straight from Brighton to London Bridge.
I like my job but I want to leave London, and Brighton seems nice.
I'm not massively keen on my current commute... but I probably need to get used to it a bit more. I've been driving to work for years, so I've had my own personal space in the mornings, and not had to deal with other PEOPLE.
I currently live in London Bridge, so I'd just be adding a set amount to my current 30 minute commute. It interests me, and I think the g/f would be up for it, as she actually works in London Bridge.
Just a thought at this stage though.
I think there is a faster train to Victoria - about 45 mins. So it's definitely worth looking into!
and wouldn't it cost a fortune as well?
Come November time I will be unemployed :(
Get me a job in London Bridge.
It's £76 per week so I don't think that's ridiculously expensive. I'd spend the same on petrol...and all those miles of wear and tear on the car means it costs more in the long run.
Can't you just cope with the commute for another 2 months. it should be a doddle after that.
will probably still be 1.5 hrs door to door though. I have no evenings to speak of at the moment, which is a bit depressing.
I'm off to Somme in October to document an event that is happening with 70 wives, widows and girlfriends of soldiers in Afghanistan participating...should be interesting.
Managed to find most of the information that the SLC need to give me back my 3.4k they stoled. I had an amazing stirfry last night and today i have a cesear wrap in my bag that i picked up to eat. I forgot to bring my copy of new scientist to work which annoyed me. However, someone picked me up a copy of new humanist which i am grateful for.
Tonight, fuck all. Maybe chilling with some beer and reading about the uk ice hockey league.
I get bt installed tomorrow which should be good; then i can get internet! Fukkkc.
I'm going to run in some fields in the rain as soon as I've had enough coffee to move.
Last night I went to the village hall. I've decided I really like it there. They were doing bell ringing :D
so ended up reading way too many Walking Dead issues when I couldn't get to sleep.
No hot water this morning because the mrs accidentally turned off the water heater. To be fair, the switches aren't obvious as to what they're for, so it was easily done.
I just HATE cold showers.
It's going to be OFF THE HOOK.
Apart from that I'm spending most of my days this week being traumatised and having waking nightmares inspired by Kill List and The Killing.
Sarkfox is doing a showing of Serial Mom at the drop in Stoke Newington tonight at 8. Tis £2.50 including pop corn!
I was in a&e til 3am. There was just me and the junkies there alone which was a pretty depressing realisation. It was horrible in there, doctors and nurses are amazing putting up with all that <3
I can't find my phone.
I can't believe you were asleep, you idiot.
although no one's at my house for like a week so in theory I could well have been and no one would know until a week from now. I heard about a guy who died in his office once and wasn't discovered for like 10 days.
Anyway. Um, they don't know, no idea what's up with me. I'm a medical enigma WITH WATERFALL EYES.
Not a chance. Nick and I were arranging a search party.
Maybe we can add this to our circus act?
Oh my Mum said: Hmm, she hasn't got glue in her eye has she?
then it's kind of a boring act. BELIEVE ME! THERE'S A WATERFALL IN MY EYES, I'M LOOKING AT YOU ALL NOW....THROUGH A WATERFALL!
Nah, it's probably a migraine type thing or something, I had it a couple of times a few years ago but only for minutes. It's just a symptom of having such a large and amazing brain.
Massive post-festival comedown exacerbated by:
Starting to get a cold
Having to sort out all the things that have gone wrong at work in my absence
Still, they say it's darkest before dawn, eh?
I even made medieval broth to eat for lunch.
This train reeks of swarfega.
I like it.
