I was afraid of this game when it came out.
and also dude turning into the incredible hulk
Scared the shit out of me, worried for my dog, worried about dying from it.
those fucking puppets just made my blood run cold with fear
and these http://tinyurl.com/4yb7jlk
Nic Roeg shouldn't be allowed to make kids films
the thought of being eaten by a witch plagued me, kept me awake at night for about 3 months after watching half of it
The tv show.
were you also scared of are you afraid of the dark?
I'm a massive wuss.
Fuck that shit man.
but Janosz as the ghostly nanny snatching the baby from the ledge still haunts me to this day
Still fucking terrifying.
I had an episode on VHS when they cleaned chimneys. Scared that crap out of me.
Also, these three: http://www.badmovies.org/movies/mastersu/mastersu6.jpg and pretty much all the villains in the film.
which isnt/wasnt scary.
Which sounds a bit like Tis Was which feature Chris Tarant, who also scares me.
Only when I was very young though.
My Sister used to wave it in my face, so my Mum glued the pages together.
See also: The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids.
whats the one where the girl with the long hair finds a genie?
Ermmm, what? I've just asked my Mum. She doesn't know either so I'm going to assume you're making it up.
I can't believe I asked my Mum. I won't tell her that there is no such thing. Her suggestion was: 'oh you aren't talking about Labyrinth are you?' What?
Also, I wasn't making it up.
Christ, this was the ACTUAL book: http://www.ladybirdprints.com/category/6240/stories-fairy-tales-&-rhymes/the-wolf-and-the-seven-little-kids/page/1/view/10
Even Ladybird know.
I'D COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
add to that list Alien War. especially when the siren was going off.
and it was all robots made out of cardboard and stuff, god knows how kids cope with it now
he was absolutely terrifying. so terrifying, in fact, that my mom's friend had to take me out of the theatre when scar came on screen because i became hysterical.
What was that called?
I just asked my Mum what scared me when I was little. She said the troll under the bridge. And a doll that used to set itself off in the middle of the night and tell me to turn it over. Hmmm. I'll have nightmares about that doll.
That had a green lightbulb. That was scary.
Also, I was convinced I was tickled by a ghost one night.
This has reminded me of one night at my Nan's. She was sleeping on the sofa in my room for some reason. I woke up and could just see what I thought was her eye, peering out from the duvet. I literally didn't move for hours. I was petrified.
Until she came back in in the morning and I realised it was her little clock.
the page with the wasp and bee pictures freaked me out a lot. used to skip that one.
Pinnochio a) the whale bit and b)when the boys turn into donkeys
ALL THOSE THINGS HAPPENING TO HIS BODY! IT'S NOT NATURAL!
When the music begins...
Add to that, whenever you fell into the acid on Chemical Plant Zone.
i was also terrified of a cupboard at my nan's that had knobs that looked exactly like thomas' eyes. which my parents have installed in my childhood bedroom since she died. thanks guys
That dude scared the shite out of me when I was about 4.
let me warn you that you'll probably have nightmares for years:
the person(s) that did this was never found.
I was sensitive.
some show hosted by neil buchanan. scary.
with the faces on the kitchen floor and they dug up the house and found bodies?
Fucks me up to this day.
it was the idea that one day the world might run out of electricity and it might be while I was in a lift or a shop with only automatic doors or something.
Prisoner Cell Block H
I remember watching the 'premiere' on morning telly, then having to go to the shops for my mum and the quickest way was through an unlit wooded area. All I could think of was 'FUCKING ZOMBIES! FUCKING ZOMBIES!'.
That, and a film called 'The Scarecrow'. Similar zombie/returning from the dead to murderise folk vibe. Those two things made me scared of dark places for a while.
Other than that and night terrors where I'd wake up, paralysed, thinking there was an animal standing on my chest hissing into my face, not much scared me when i was younger.
Actually, they still freak me out
she found me face down on the sofa bawling my eyes out. She asked me what was wrong and I blubbed between tears 'I DON'T KNOW HOW I'LL EVER BE ABLE TO PAY A MORTGAGE!!!'
(Still haven't figured it out)
the same things as now really.
i used to have terrible nightmares.. one night i woke up screaming and my mum came in. I shouted that there was a giant pink snail in my bedroom, pointed to it and told her to get it out. She proceeded to pretend to lift this giant pink snail.. and takes it out to the front garden and places it on the rock.
ive no idea why im saying all this. It just reminded me of that story.
where you see his shadow go up the stairs with his long fingers :(
I actually used to have a recurring nightmare about this...I'd walk all the way up a spiral staircase to the top of a tower, realise I couldn't get out and try to go back down again, but I'd see THAT shadow on the wall, coming up the stairs...:(
I hated it :( That shadow stayed with me for years
I knew it'd be this. Horrifying to a child in the age of the fledgling home computer.
'I'd be scared too? if my sister turned into Robert Smith from The Cure'.
I screamed out in terror "MUM, THERE'S AN OSTRICH BEHIND THE COUCH!"
It was a cockroach.
I never saw the films when I was younger but somebody told me he killed you when you were sleeping. And I had to sleep.
when the Cheshire Cat appears and all you can see are its teeth and its eyes
As did the orginal Prince of Persia game on the Commodore 64.
...used to freak me the fuck out. Still does to be fair...
Less seriously - those Fry's Turkish Delight adverts. SCARED THE FUCKING SHIT OUT OF ME.
Every time the witch showed up I'd run for my life.
I used to be fucking TERRIFIED of Thomas the Tank engine. Scared the shit out of me.
Wasn't too keen on Pob either.
Also, I watched Silver Bullet when I was a about 6 or 7 and for years after was convinced there were werewolves outside my window. I had to sleep with the hall light on and my door open. Terrified me.
and nowadays, this bastard.
I seem to remember something set in a garden that had a storyline based around 13 O'Clock. Wondering if it was that.
Other than the show was called jigsaw and that that nosey shit haunted my dreams.
And probably Box of Delights intro
Dulux Advert that used Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade Of Pale
Zager And Evans - In The Year 2525
Tales Of The Unexpected intro
Weird kid, apparently.
scaring the shit out of kids since 1937
never actually saw the film but the concept itself was enough to freak me out considerably - imagine being trapped reading/being in a never ending story
