Go to the harbourside where you will find the Arnolfini arts centre and Watershed cinema with a very pleasant cafe/bar overlooking the harbour
wander around Clifton village and have a beer on the balcony of the White Lion pub where you will be treated to awesome views of Avon Gorge and the Clifton suspension bridge.
and sample their infamous, super strong Exhibition cider.

They were everywhere when I was there. I like the one next to the statue of the dung beetle in front of the Firehouse.
but seriously, go to the zoo.

We went for afternoon tea on the terrace of some nice hotel which oevrlooked teh suspension bridge. I don't remember much after that, but the tea was good.
And tell them it's your birthday and you're on your stag do and that you have leukaemia.
