She probably got the idea after this email went viral http://www.snopes.com/love/dating/casey.asp look at the traffic that it has generated for the site.
publically humiliating someone just to get a few more hits for her article. Its obvious she was trying to make a name for herself but i dont think that changes the fact she thought this would be a good idea and what she wrote is almost definitely how she felt which shows how shallow she is. She no longer works at Gizmodo and i dont think she was paid for the piece btw.
HAS ANYONE CHECKED?
What a bitch.
He is a geeky geeky geek. If I met up with a girl and she told me she was a professional Magic player, I probably wouldn't even stick around long enough to write a Twitter update about it.
If it was just a hobby then yes, that would be sad and she would have been well within her right to be so condescending. But he's chosen an area and excelled at it. Would she have felt the same about a world chess champion? Or the 100metres Olympic world record holder?
He sounds like a keeper.
until she did and then she goes on to say he was being deceiving and had even 'infiltrated' his way into dates with two of her colleagues. As someone else commented, if he should have said on his profile he was the world champion at MTG then she should have disclosed on her profile she was a world class bitch.
yeah she does sound like a shallow biatch.
most of the coolest people i know are geeky/nerdy in some way
if she's serious thought then she needs to die in a vat of acid
i think in trying to put her name out there she probably has done more harm than good though.
AMA with John Finkel...
There's a difference between not continuing a relationship because you don't find their hobbies interesting and claiming that they're at fault for not bragging about it on their dating profile. And then writing a post about it on a site read by millions. She's a bitch.
But it would probably turn off more people that he might get on brilliantly with. If he's been driven to dating sites then I'm guessing his fame inside the magic community isn't getting him any girls.
There's also this, ~I later found out that he infiltrated his way into OKCupid dates with at least two other people I sort of know, including one of my co-workers~ without expansion. Makes him seem like some creepy stalker when he could have simply sent them the same message as he did her.
I think this lady might have ideas above her station.
and is pretty highly ranked in the UK who refused to get any of his Warhammer stuff out when my girlfriend was around. Great guy. A huge silly billy though.
What a nice guy
