Come on people, play by the rules.
Rooney's hair looks fucking ridiculous. Was he checking it had stayed on after scoring his goal?
really liking the way we're playing at the minute. it'll probably come crashing down on Sunday, but oh well.
it's strange to see us at such fitness at the start of the season, something which the younguns have helped massively. i'd expect to see berba, park and carrick re-introduced into the team around oct-nov, to avoid any burnout. it'll be interesting to see who is dropped on sunday, as park HAS to play against Arsenal
looks like pretty good value
can we pick a premier league most handsome 11?
Rangel S Taylor Rafael Enrique
Gomez Silva Dempsey Kranjcar
Di Santo Anelka
Too bloody long.
nothing beats the unrealistic optimism, unconfirmed nonsense sightings and late night crushing realisations of a good transfer deadline day
and the fun of trying to get the bbc to publish your rumours.
always seems to be Riquelme recently
Someone rang in convinced that Batistuta was on the verge of a move to Oxford United. I think it was when they were managed by that man who turned out to be in the country illegally.
but think if we play like that in other games we'll beat most teams in the Premier League. Definitely need to sign some players fairly quickly though.
despite away at OT being the hardest game of our season. We did ok for the first half and a bit and then it all went tits up. Missing any 2 of sandro, palacios, modric and jenas(!) in CM was always going to make things tricky, although Livermore looked good first half. Kranjcar however is not a CM, mainly because he can't run.
Second half united really upped it. Rooney was unplayable at times, dropping deep and shitting all over us, and young looked very good too. Welbeck's header and assist were delightful.
Adebayor and Diarra, sharpish.
Also, Friedel is Hellboy.
but hardly a surprising one. After Everton was postponed I said our season won't start until Man City at home. Thought it was a promising performance nevertheless, fuck Aaron Lennon though.
*that* cutback when it was 0-0 was criminal, and then he just caught the ball instead of trying to keep it in.
i'd like to believe it's true in a way, would explain a lot
Particularly the bit about Mata.
'Wenger had a four pronged squad plan this summer,
1.Keep our best players
2.Buy in top level players to improve the team
3.Sign young players with big potential
4.Promote from within'
pretty insightful stuff...
Professor nicknames in football are only for glasses wearers (no matter how stupid)
rather than just everything he wants to do :D
Club have also briefed press that it's not true, though the fact they felt the need to deny a blog post suggests it's not a subject they want examined much further.
I'd suggest there's an element of truth to it but as DanielKelly says, and did so yesterday, the Mata thing kinda lets it down. That and the fact it's so unbalanced leads me to think it may have stemmed from Red & White Holdings.
That would be pretty perfect, I think.
I've often said I'd have Bellamy back. He's still a pretty solid player, and would be ahead of either Ngog or Kuyt as 3rd choice forward.
It's not very FSG though, an old man on high wages. But I'd bring him home in a flash.
Getting rid of Ayala and Kyrigakos suggests we're in the market for another CB, but I'd expect it to be Dann. Would prefer it if we didn't resign Bellamy, his wages would be far too high compared to how often he'd play. Another striker wouldn't be a bad idea though, particularly with N'Gog on the way out.
when I was watching out for Suarez. He looked very solid.
I just think it's a bit of a worry how toothless we look without Suarez on the pitch. We were properly shite on Sunday before he came on and I honestly didn't think the scoreline reflected the game overall. Bellamy worries defenders more than Ngog does.
He'd also provide back-up to our wide men. Our fans would love a trophy this season and I think it's only with that added depth that you can genuinely chase top 4 AND a cup campaign.
But I don't think Bellamy's the answer. I think a season in the Championship followed by a few months in the reserves isn't the best preparation for joining a top 4 chasing side. Someone a bit younger who'd cost less in wages and would be happier as a bit part player would be a much better fit.
we'll have plenty of bite, and consider that whatever you think of Maxi, he can be a creative player and one who I think can do the sort of job Bellamy would end up doing for up.
I'd prefer to see us get a good young CB and then close the chequebook. I'm not saying the team can't be imporved (it can) but it needs time to gel now so we can see which of our new players step up and which don't.
Hopefully it'll be a good game, I think we've got enough to beat to Sunderland.
I really wouldn't be surprised if we lost to Northampton, although it would make a nice change from being knocked out by United two years running.
Danny Wellbeck "became a man" last night
Quite an evening for him.
good effort tonight lad, as a treat, Rooney and Giggs have agreed to loan you one of their prossies
But i still lose my ninefold - better luck tonight?

last years table adjusted for reffing decisions (ok, its not that interesting)
Martin Atkinson must have done more of their games than I realised ...
Of course most people there were up in arms - "I can remember against Fulham when so-and-so wasn't sent off for a challenge which was a clear second yellow and he scored a few minutes later" etc. - and of course they're biased but I do think they have a point. Without knowing exactly what decisions he looked at then it's hard to judge how accurate this table is.
He seems to be assuming that if a penalty was given it would have been scored, for instance, which is a bit much.
must be ignored as the guy can't spell actual.
don't see why it matters. one thing i've noticed though is that SSN seem to pick out the dregs of the fanbase for interviews. i've seen several arsenal fan interviews, and chelsea in their downturn last year, that were done with unfathomably idiotic supporters. generally, anyone who wears their teams shirts and shorts at the same time should be avoided, yet they are magnets for SSN cameras
sad thing is I'm from there and they really did find the most sane people in Norwich to interview.
Expecting a feast of football!
Think the paddocks are the only uncovered section. Which is handy as I was going to sit there, but then delayed buying until today thank god!
Seems there are plenty of seats behind one goal, so if there's not cataclysmal rain this evening I may pop down to the ticket office.
I've taken the opportunity of £15 tickets to sit in the Platinum area. High expectations
Gonna stay in.
I've often been told I Luke Young for my age
The disciplinary panel will meet in the morning to discuss your 3 match ban, but I reckon it'll be quite a short discussion.
Really need to spend it soon though.
Our business plan relies on reaching at least the group stage of th CL every year. We could probably absorb a year or 2 without, but much more likely if we don't qualify is that some of the Cesc/Samir cash will be used to cover the shortfall.
A good fee to get given the circumstances, but strong evidence that the circumstances are not at all encouraging.
City haven't achieved anything major yet, but they certainly seem to be moving in the right direction pretty quickly and even if it doesn't work, at least they're 'showing ambition', that must appeal to a player.
He's going to get a ton of stick off Arsenal fans, mostly about being 'greedy' etc, but I think the root of it is the feeling he's strung the club along. Probably a good thing he played on Saturday after all as people have to at least respect the effort he put in.
But since Nasri has been at Arsenal, the gunners have probably achieved less to be fair.
wasn't long ago you were saying he wasn't worth £22m, was it?
.'what does samir nasri do?'.
This puts him as a bit better than Ashley Young, a bit better than Jordan Henderson, three times better than Cliche half as good as Torres and five sevenths as good as Andy Carroll. Seems reasonable.
To be honest, even with the above over-inflated fees included, if Modric does end up going to Chelsea for anything less than £30m Man City will look a bit short-changed...
saying that Nasri was training and travelling with Arsenal today.
He's been suspended for the past 6 months. He also kicked up a massive stink when he left Arsenal, and now earns so much money they literally couldn't afford him. And he's the wrong side of 30.
When he leaves City it'll be for Qatar or somewhere, where he'll earn superbunse for a few years before retiring to a palace made of gold.
Tbf I'd take Kolo back in a second, not sure he'd fancy coming it or we'd fancy his wages though.
Fuck off, this season.
don't really care either.
City team going forward?
80 goals a game.
City's outstanding strength right now is the depth of their quality. Play all of their quality together, people get tired/injured etc and that advantage evaporates. Much more sensible to rest and rotate.
milner, johnson and The Best Midfielder In The World (tm), and Balotelli and De Jong, will all figure heavily of course.
If good ol' Bobby Manc can't win at least the league with that team I think it's safe to assume he'll be off
But after last season I think it's fair to say your target would have been to challenge for the title and, say, reach the knock-out stages in Europe.
Now, with the players they've bought in, surely anything short of trophies will be a failure on his part.
every other post in that thread last night was you having a pop at United, or taking guarding the honour of Manciti/your gambling habits very seriously. You haven't been laid off again, have you?
the team i put would just be the one i'd enjoy watching most
stupid football :(
well, since he was like 11 apparently.
Lifelong Chelsea fan for 7 years then...mmm sounds like a lot of people I know.
when he had Hasselbaink. It's pretty clear that he has a lot of sentiment for the club but I don't think anyone is stupid to enough to think that a Belgian kid would have picked up an affinity for a League One side.
I was a bit annoyed with you lot snatching a victory on Saturday. I was preparing my 'never felt more like singing the blues' post and everything (safety wink)
read something about Drogba being his idol.
This was filmed for some Belgian documentary about him whilst he was about 16. Think I love him already.
'Money is the roots of all evil'
Before saying 'Pfff come on Jack' after Wilshere did a glowing farewell
Porto would have to announce any negotiations to the Portuguese stock market, so it'll soon be clear if there are any legs in it. But presuming that it is and that they maintain an interest in Modric, two of our existing foreign players could not be registered for our league squad ... Certainly seems that the club is willing to move people on.
I'm not hinting at a surprise Porto bid for Modric.
i already know what it was like back then.
i've seen Fever Pitch
but this is some genuinely hilarious punditry from Phillipe Senderos...
goes over the top with his reaction. Definitely gay.
solid cb pairing and forward line, but they look almost TOO weak outside of that. i expect a herculean performance from Rosicky.
but the younger guys/reserves may well still be better than MK Dons anyway
its quite strong actually:
Rudd, R. Martin (c), Drury(lol), Whitbread, Jackson, Surman, Hoolahan, Fox, Smith, Wilbraham, Ayala
Subs: Ruddy, Johnson, Morison, Holt, Bennett, Lappin, De Laet
still backing bury in that game
tight as a gnat's chuff.
A strong second string, but a second string nonetheless, and we are historically very poor in cup competitions under McCarthy. I wouldn't back us.
Villa are going to massacre Hereford. Over 3.5 goal bet maybe?
Isn't Bent playing?
I want to watch a Premiership team's under-19s going out on penalties to a League One side, dammit.
They usually show both Tuesday and Wednesday games right?
Settled for Villareal vs Odense instead
they're showing Liverpool v Exeter tomorrow, and then Newcastle v Scunthorpe on Thursday (bafflingly).
two big clubs!
I'm a Newcastle fan, I know exactly how big a club we are (HUGE) ;)
despite being left out of the yuppie duopoly deserves a lot of respect.
Despite the silly way in which massive wealth is currently concentrated, there's a common knowledge among football fans of who your true footballing institutions are and who the pretenders are.
I should clarify.
Looks like we're heading for Wembley as well as the Champions League >_>
York could get double figures.
Is the next round of the draw seeded similarly to the last one?
Or could teams winning in the current round play against eachother?
fucking yellow cunts.
not to bet on Norwich in the league cup. I did do that.
so a bit more warning next time yeah?
...equaliser from Kidderminster... County should have wrapped it up by half time, oh well still undefeated
obviously false but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE TRUE
anyone reckon he'll be dropped soon?
Spent too much money, surely?
