FAO Americans / people who know about American colleges
just found out that I get to spend a whole year - 2012/3 - in the states through my uni, Nottingham. I've been hoping this would happen since I was like 16 and it was 50/50 whether I'd make the grade so I'm fucking happy but now I need to figure out where to go. I don't know a whole amount about the system over in the US (I mean, I get the major/minor system etc) but I'm taking Politics & American studies at Notts so if any of these colleges are more technical or have a specific field like science that they excel at it's probably not a good idea to go there, right? atm i'm leaning strongly towards Chapel Hill, but i'm interested in Reed college, Illinois and maybe a Georgia too. list is here:
University of Arizona, Tucson
University of Florida, Gainesville
University of Georgia, Athens
University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
University of Tennessee
Georgia State University, Atlanta
Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge
Reed College, Portland, Oregon
State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany
State University of New York (SUNY at Binghamton
Texas A & M University, College Station
College of Charleston, South Carolina
Middlebury College, Vermont
William & Mary College, Williamsburg, Virginia
any help from anyone would be really cool, thanks
