There's a few toughies in here. good luck!
12a clue is wrong (turns out the name is nothing to do with jesters). Alternative clue for 12a: to be found drunk, serene, outside the Old Bailey (11)
need clue please for 27/5d.
if 'to be found drunk, serene, outside the Old Bailey (11)' is clue for 12a, what's the clue for 8d?
does 6 mean 6a or 6d? or is it just 6?
i'm struggling to get anything other than 23a
(are 5 & 27d referring to each other without a clue, or am i missing something?)
so i pasted the clue for 12a into 8d. So as said above, 12a is: to be found drunk, serene, outside the Old Bailey (11)
clue for 8d: the scent of an old master? (3,4)
clue for 27d: excels at origami; rubbish at poker (3,5)
25a/18d (really like this one)
yes, i'm particularly proud of 25/18
which ones are you stuck on?
the ones that I feel I should be able to get, because I've got a few letters, are: 19a, 26a, and 8d.
The others I've only got one or two letters. I've got a possible answer for 13d, but I'm not that happy with it. Actually, now that I've just googled them, I think I'm probably right.
(though meat is probably stretching it a bit)
you'll like 26a. i guess strictly it should be 5.1.1
8 down - actually this should be 3,11 with the 3 being "the" - one of those bands where i'm never sure whether or not they have a the or not. don't know how famous they were in aus..
8d is the 'scent of an old master' one — not that I've got 12a either.
this one's not too difficult actually.
I might try and hawk these to Q magazine or the NME or something. I wonder how much the going rate is for a crossword?
