There Will Be Blood
So stomach wrenching!
where 'best' means horriblest
It's a bloody masterpiece
...The Two Jakes? That is quite hard work admittedly.
he's just being annoying.
The end of Nostalghia by Tarkovsky. That surreal scene of a man and dog inside a field with a house in the background, and as the camera fades out you see what I presume is a church ruin. Absolutely amazing
The end of Stalker is amazing as well. I love how it doesn't explain wether the girl telekinetically moved it or it's the vibration on the table from the train.
I have never ever seen better cinematography. Ever.
Invisible tennis at the end of Blow Up
The end of Late Spring. When the dad is just siting in his hair cutting up an apple. Breaks my heart :(
Synecdoche, New York as well. End of that made me cry.
2001: A Space oddyssey. How could I forget that one!
Chishu Ryu played similar characters most of the time, but he was brilliant at it.
35 Shots of Rum was a pretty good remake too.
Just because it meant that it had ended.
And the final seconds of The Iron Giant too: http://youtu.be/20LTVNlJ3lw
although I guess it won't have quite the same impact out of context.
that's the music used in the film.
when I watched this last night, but isn't it meant to be Rhythm Of The Night?
(I can't see the clip from here)
Trying to work out how Boris started playing in the background then...
(pretty much my stock answer for any film related best list but yeah.)
especially with the theme fading in to play over the end credits.
dem ewokz r soo happpy :))
Where Lucas uses COMPUTER MAGIC to put Hayden Christensen's ghost in that scene
best Samurai movie ever made, idgaf
Saw this on TV years ago and it seems pretty obscure/unfindable... But yeah I remember abrupt ending I liked. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091355/
tho cinemas never follow the original special projection instructions to bring the house lights up and close curtains before it finishes!
Night of the living dead
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
They couldn't afford to shoot a proper ending - they didn't need to.
Hery guys, what if the film sucks?
No more Pull Ups!
There's definitely going to be another one!
...when he gets it right Michael Mann's use of popular music in film can be excellent. Moby's 'God Moving Over The Face Of The Water' as the end of Heat is pretty good, but I think his best has to be Mogwai's 'Auto Rock' over the closing scenes of Miami Vice - it feels as tho it must have been scored especially for the film.
When they're on the bike looking all happy and Yann Tiersen's joyous score. I always seem to get something in my eye at that point.
Not quite the final seconds but the end of Rear Window is so brilliant; really feels original in a way I can't explain- you aren't expecting to feel like that, even if the ending is one way or another obvious.
...the end of North By Northwest is absolute genius - cutting from the (literal) cliffhanger of Mount Rushmore and then wrapping up all the loose ends in 30 seconds flat. Absolute genius.
Dance my chicken friend, dance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm3B82Q5vhY
When it all becomes clear - brilliant
The Joker leaving his calling card
Baby you are gonna miss that plane...
...chokes me up. I wish they were a couple in real life :(
You knew what was coming, kinda. And it was horrid.
Also, the end of Vertigo.
but the only one i can think of just now is that polanski movie w/ ewan mcgregor about tony
70's version with Ewar Woowar and Christopher Lee
No, wait a sec...
and the wicker man (as mentioned above)
