Is it worth getting a blackberry or am I better off with a android?
Otherwise, just pick up a Nokia 3210 and a Netbook. Seriously considering doing that the next time.
...Nokia 3310 is way superior and fits in your pocket better.
Is this true?
Same great functionality, but with a really nifty torch.
I miss week long battery life.
gone from a Nokia 1600 to a Samsung Galaxy Mini, so it's also my first smartphone. The battery thing is such a pain, especially as I'm using it as a mobile hotspot and that drains the battery in about three hours.
I bought a $10 phone from Radioshack. It had wap! I tried to use DiS but the mobile site was broken :(
get an HTC Desire S or Sensation or a Samsung Galaxy.... all of which are better then the iphone imho
HTC Wildfire....is that any good?
The Wildfire S isn't as smooth as the above but a good introduction smart phone with a lot of functionality. It might chug on the more labour intensive apps and games though
better design and screen
Blackberries are a bit rubbish. The keyboard's the only thing they've really got going for them.
I suppose BBM as well, the user interface is rather rubbo and quite hard to get to grips with and the screens are odd aspect ratios and a bit rubbish.
But anyone with a Blackberry usually has a pretty hefty amount of free texts on their contract as well, so BBM is a bit redundant really.
and the like, I often use it like an IM service these days as I get unlimited texts and so do others I know. But its still a bonus knowing everyone using BBM have unlimited privileges
the new one with the big touch screen. Its crap. Don't get it.
The one minor plus point it has is that i've dropped it on the floor loads and the screen still hasn't smashed or chipped.
The current phone i have is a samsung tocca lite
If you want a reasonably cheap smartphone, the Orange San Francisco is great. Alternatively, the same manufacturer just released a phone which Orange are selling as the Monte Carlo - same screen size as the HTC Desire HD but nowhere near as powerful.
They don't have the horsepower of the top end phones but they're a quarter of the price. Best phone-related decision I ever made was paying £120 for a San Francisco and getting a £10-a-month rolling (i.e. no fixed term, can cancel it at a month's notice) Teso SIM only plan.
I've not been impressed by the Blackberry OS, particularly side-by-side with Android. But I don't and have never owned a Blackberry, just fiddled with other peoples', so there's an obvious bias there.
depends what you need it for?
if you email and text lots then yeah a blackberry is the best.
About 100quid difference in the price...I can never make up my mind when it comes to these things.
are you looking at the Three £15 deal? the galaxy can generate wifi hotspots, which is kinda neat
