HELLO, HOW ARE YOU?
here, have an internet monday fairy to make up for it
so I gave up on sleeping. Have just been watching news since. How long has there been a Fox News feed on Sky?
first day back after a really good but really tiring 4 day weekend (Edinburgh to Bournemouth and back within 3 days!) so feeling in a bit of a grump about that.
Should be okay in the long run though as I've got another 3-day week and it's my birthday on Thursday :)
This year's gone so fucking quickly so far, which is a bit upsetting.
I'm TIRED! Went to a sci fi exhibit at the weekend and have since discovered the online shop, suspect I may bankrupt myself on buying all the books they had on display.
Captain America tonight! Exciting!
I'm nor really a functional personin the mornings.
you genuinely did have a zip down the front?! :D
I also forgot to wear tights. I HAVE NAKED LEGS. I never have naked legs, never.
it sounds suspiciously like you just forgot to get dressed before heading off to work. A nighty isn't a dress, you know!
so I probably look like I'm wearing a dressing gown too.
Also, really nice to meet you at the weekend. Sorry I left in something of a rush...
You too! I hope you felt ok yesterday :(
(I got rid of the worst of it in a Soho gutter to be honest). A good shower, a few paracetemol, a lot of water, and I was apparently well enough to eat a massive Breakfast Club breakfast!
Is that in Dalston? My friend told me I should go there sometime.
this one in right next to Liverpool St. It's very trendy. There's a SMEG fridge which is actually a doorway which takes you to an underground tropical-themed bar (which I did not try and brave yesterday).
We're going for breakfast there tmw :D Need to make the most of living on the doorstep of work for the last week!
One in Soho, one in Islington, one in Hoxton. They're great, although the Soho one has a habit of running out of bread whenever I go there...
I wanted to say hi on Saturday but you and Jake were gassing and then you left before I got chance so apologies I missed you and HAI!
I didn't realise that was you. Shame!
I'm looking forward to UK/European summer time ending, so that the distraction of DiS morning threads/activity doesn't start until I'm into my last half hour at work.
Good weekend. Dissers done got me drunk. Was fun. Now work seems a cruel and unusual place.
Not once have any DiSers got me drunk. Bastards the lot of you.
Come to the UK rob. please.
maybe if you put a 'help bring rob to the UK so we can get him drunk' donation jar at the top of the forum...
I can't use my new phone
spent the majority of friday evening looking after one of my work colleagues who was paraletic. All i wanted to do was go out and have beers but instead i had to play babysitter >:(
Saturday i was tired from no sleep. Was going to come along to drink with disers but honestly, eating fried chicken on the sofa was incredible. Plus I was knackered.
Went go-karting on sunday which was fun but rubbish too cos my kart was crap! Lapped twice :(
And I checked my bank balance this morning which was terrible, meaning somehow I'm going to have to go through a lean month...which means foregoing Field Day, maybe :'(
hungover after picnicking and then having a curry.
how the cock is it August already?
Got back from my 2 week holiday this weekend. This morning I woke up and wanted to put on my costume and go to the beach. then I realised I was in London and had to go to work instead. So not fair.
In all honesty, where I was the preference was nothing at all. I have seen way to many saggy bums, man bits and lady bits to last me a lifetime.
good good, saturday Vincent had a pony ride at nursery open day and spent the whole time shooting imaginary outlaws and shouting COWBOY...spent most of yesterday reading in the garden, then watched London Boulevard which aside from Ray Winstone in his pyjamas was fairly poor.
Nothing's going on at work today either. Weekend was quiet, finished third in the pub quiz yesterday (despite some very dubious officiating).
had a great weekend in the Stockholm archipelago - this was my saturday night - http://i51.tinypic.com/e12cfa.jpg
feel awful being back in town
but today is all about packing and then tomorrow off to the devon/dorset border for a week
I had such a good weekend with some lovely disers, getting rather pissed and making a fool of myself in Hyde Park.
Then spent the rest of the weekend being pampered by my lovely boyfriend. Also, went for a lumberjack breakfast.
Unfortunately, I missed hip at his worst as I drank too much earlier in the day and needed to go home and demolish some pasta.
Followed by Soho shenanigans.
Followed by every point in London between Soho and my friends' flat shenanigans.
I'm impressed how easy it is to throw a frisbee at a bunch of topless men.
We were shouting Jim.
And he told me that he's not ACTUALLY an animal.
I wasn't sure how to respond, really.
Sunday, went to my second-cousin's (he's 2) birthday party - was a good laugh ate and drank lots. Then watched Juno and played Left 4 Dead 2.
Today I accept my new job which starts next week. I'm excited/scared because it means more work, different environment but it will be better.
WELL DONE x
Just went and confirmed it all and they seem really pleased. I am as well. I probably won't be on here much for the next 8 months, so make the most my posts and stuff while you can!
Seeing poptimus's band tonight. That's about it.
Was good apart from a series of misunderstandings of Larry David proportions e.g. inadvertently finding myself at the head of a convoy of cars from the church en route to the reception venue, except I wasn't going to the reception venue so they were all bemused and angry when I stopped and got out of my car somewhere else, also the groom misheard something I said after his speech and thought I was criticising him and he kinda snapped at me :(
Saturday - too tired to do anything so stayed in and watched loooads of films on TV. Karate Kid (2010) - 5/10, Cloverfield 7/10, Prisoner of Azkaban 7/10, There's Something About Mary 9/10 and some others I can't remember.
Sunday - Drank lots of rum.
I did a lot of boring househiold chores as our Kitchen is now finished; I'm determined to be young and fun for a while as I have exactly one month left of being 25, and have spent the last two Saturdays in B&Q before 9am.
I have a video of hip doing shots and visibly getting drunker over the course of about a minute. Should I upload it to youtube or something?
JOSH/HIP IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO DO THIS TELL ME NOW BEFORE I GO TO THE EFFORT. This will takes ages though; I don't get my iPhone at all.
Is it like, well, that's quite embarrassing, but he's still clearly a handsome and charming guy, just not at his best while we ply him with booze?
Or is it more LIYTGOIUYFUYFOUFLUYFPIFYUKLYFU? Because all the videos of me on Youtube are like that for some reason.
You start off as a charming intellectual, do halfd the shots and start shouting incoherently for me to say something in latin, you then dedicate the next two shots to Byron, and the video ends with the pub bell ringing and your eyes glazing over.
There's always the chance I will need some sort of alibi for where I was that evening.
Did you capture the abovementioned gutter conversation as well?
There was a scary moment there when I thought Steff talking was me talking.
:D ONLY JOKING STEFF LOVE YOU STEFF
What an idiot.
so you can be alone with it for a while before it is given to general consumption.
subsequent street-based consequences?
by taking a video/some pictures, but being a functioning human being (ie not a journalist) I couldn;t bring myself to humiliate him that much.
My hands are covered in bruises however
``On December 19, 1988, the Consumer Product Safety Commission banned lawn darts from sale in the United States due to their hazards as a flying projectile with a sharp metal point causing multiple deaths. Shortly after, in 1989, they were also banned in Canada. Since then, alternatives have surfaced that are available for sale in Canada that are made of plastic.``
I had a pretty booze filled weekend, and went to Antwerp Mansion on Saturday. Cool place. Went on an underground tour yesterday which was pretty brillopads.
Captain America tonight, it's going to be good.
my family all went away EVEN MY DOG and all my friends went to a festival that I was meant to go to but my stupid tonsils prevented me so I had to sit alone watching Mythbusters all weekend. Also work have just told me I will probably be getting a formal warning for not coming in because I didn't sound ill enough on the phone which makes me wonder why they work at tesco instead of in the health industry if they can make such an accurate diagnosis of my health from a short phone call.
Second of all, if they even hint that you're getting a formal warning for that, you are permitted to laugh in their face. Before looking at any kind of disciplinary action, you would need to be reviewed, and they also have to give you a chance to get a doctors reference.
and yeah I have to go to a review thing but they said I will probably get a warning. They are ridiculous they have this disciplinary system that you get put on if you're off for a certain amount even if you can prove you were genuinely ill.
and not in the good Beastie Boys way.
during the signing of the register, they played the circle of life by elton john and not in an ironic way.
Did they hold a lion cub up in the air too?
nobody's supposed to buy any houses until the price comes way down. You're ruining it for everyone!
that involved lots of driving to get there and back D:
went paddling in the sea :D
still feeling a bit rough D:
at the wedding breakfast me and the commander were sat next to someone who lurks on here. Hi if you're out there!
Listened to cricket all weekend - great stuff. Played FM11. Problem is I've had a 'headache' in my eye for 4 days now, and its starting to really fucking hurt.
I made falafel. My parents had never heard of falafel, and pronounced humous as 'hoo moose'.
Last time I went to visit them I taught them how to cook a spanish omelette.
Bless them and their terrible cooking knowledge.
went to indietracks this weekend with ghostpony and spent lots o time with nice_squirrel and dom_gourlay, plus some real life people. crystal stilts, hidden cameras, jeffrey lewis and especially haiku salut were all massive fun.
i'm at work for 12 hours today, and barely slept last night. woe is kinda me.
hey, you're a manc aintcha? fancy going to the Paul Scholes testimonial on Friday? I have a spare ticket. Or know any other manc that would?
but I could ask around for you?
I didn't get my face painted though because the queue was too long. Ditto the carousel. SOBBING.
Saturday- went to an awesome vocal recording expo. Learned lots of stuff and, much as I adore my Super55, I now really really want a digital mic.
Sunday- slept, pottered about, had late lunch, then drinks, then out for dinner. I had a whole crab. It took me about 45 minutes to shell it, but was worth the wait!
Friday: Went to the Proms. It was ace.
Saturday: Went to Somerset House to see Die Hard and Attack The Block. Alan Rickman was there! And Joe Cornish and most of the cast of AtB! Yippie-Kai-Ay, mother fucker.
Sunday: went back to Hertford to the birthday party of a school friend’s kid, and then booked our accommodation and car hire for our trip to the US.
This week is pretty busy too. I’m off to Baltic tonight for a meal to celebrate my girlfriend getting a new job; I might head to Crystal Stilts on Tuesday; playing football on Wednesday; saying goodbye to Lemonbrickcombo on Friday; and then marking my birthday by going to Field Day on Saturday (subtle hint).
