any ideas? I mean, really cheap would be nice, like £30? maybe being to ambitious...
So, there. Probs not that nice. Travelodge by M&S sometimes have £10 sales and stuff so have a look at that.
don't really know the area...
It's just the one I used to stay in sometimes as it's central to most stuff.
Brooner and some of the football lot stayed in a really cheap hotel a few months back in NQ, sounded pretty dismal but it was defo cheap - maybe see if any of that footie lot know.
Just had a look on late rooms and you can stay in halls or residence for £28
This is central too
It's close to everything and cheap.
What you up to on Saturday?
Somewhere called TV21s? - decided a hotel/hostel is needed incase it is really shit, would hate to be stuck there until 3am waiting to sleep on the floor... is tV21s any good? x
It gets really busy - it's all full of space stuff upstairs and downstairs is just a really really busy, small dancefloor. It can be fun though and there's lots of nice bars around there so I'd suggest going on a bit of a bar crawl first of all
have a suspicion they might play cheese? ---- AAHHHH, I am such a grump.
I don't think they play cheese though, I'm always too drunk to notice!
There are loads of better places surrounding it though so you can have an escape if you need one :)
Go to Trof, just next door, the next morning for breakfast.
and drink flaming rum zombies at Keko Moku. My mate runs it, and it's his last night tending bar there on Saturday, and there is the promise of lots of free shots and stuff doing the rounds!
Last Saturday night, i ended up at the Castle- there was a northern soul bit on out teh back and it was brilliant (I did hiphop dancing, much to the sheer amazement of the Dj who loked like I had just killed his granny).
we were in. Wasn't great, but y'know, was a room and bed!
Would probably go with Scout's suggestion of the Halls if it's close enough.
Booked through Expedia. Worked out cheaper than Hatters or the YHA hostel. Brooner's hotel was a complete dump, apparently.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I know, I've been looking forward to visiting manchester and it turns out we are being dragged to a shit-hole by the sound of it...
Oh well, might try and convince the missus to have a few pre-drinks somewhere better.
It's just that there is a lot of bitterness around how that bar actually got set up. I hear that it has a shuttle that you can sit in though.
vauguely got that impression from some online comments.
still, shuttle. score.
Manchester has a distinct lack of Hostels, well it did in 2005 when i first went.
it doesn't really cater for young tourist/backpackers very well at all which baffles me. But then I guess if it's in the hols then there's all those student halls to stay in
it's a knocking shop ALLEGEDLY and the rooms have no windowns (ACTUAL FACT).
Unless you're desperate for a nap, I reckon it's a bit suspect.
at 11am on Sat morning and couldn't get into our other hotel until 2- so, despite my warning, I would have killed for a couple of hours in that other place whilst waiting! (Instead, we went for breakfast and stared at the wall/ground.)
Albeit after an Oasis concert and everyone else was too.
It was a sunday night, got the first train back at 6:30, got dressed for work and got the train straight back again. Bad times.
We stopped at the Jury Inn. Was fairly cheap, I think it was £20 each. The only problem was there were 3 of us, we booked a triple room, and they gave us a double bed and a single bed rather than three singles. I had to sleep on the floor, right next to the air conditioning, meaning that I didn't actually sleep due to being too cold.
