In the city that sounds unsustainable due to the high cost of living in London.
it's quite workable
Not entirely sure how I got by. Lots of smuggling vodka into venues and clubs I think.
I think I had similar survival methods back then. I also thought going to a restaurant was an outrageous treat.
Why not? It has quite a lot going for it these days.
high, the cost of living
I'd imagine it would have to be adjusted upward somewhat now to qualify as "alright".
Maybe £23.7 grand job or thereabouts.
In the city, and it's fine!
Knows how to party
*I don't wish
...rather than the city, I would suggest that they should be aiming higher.
I survived for a bit
after tax that's about £900 a month, rent and bills and zone 1&2 travelcard = £600, leaves you about £70/week for food and stuff.
assuming you have no dependants obviously
i mean, sure you could carve out a miserable existence.
you'd never go to the pub, you'd feel incredibly guilty about buying a cup of coffee, or a takeaway pizza.
and if you're a smoker? or saving up for a holiday?
You don't seem to have any understanding of how little money it's possible to live on.
Have you ever been on JSA? £55/week for under 25's (I don't see why over 25's need slightly more money, but that's getting off topic)
And you've got to use that for bills and travel as well as food etc.
but did absolutely nout.
it's possible, but not sustainable in my humble opinion.
but then, i spend a fiver a day just on lunch at the moment.
i could do it.
£25 pw on food
£25 pw on entertainment
£15 pw savings
then a fiver for the return bus to go and bang your mom.
I still manage to smoke and buy the occasional coffee.
