on now. was looking forward to this.
i will not have that against my name
Robson is on shaky ground here
left the gym where they wuz showing it around the time the asian guy was saying he can get Fergie to give his clubs players. Unless he owns Sunderland I can't remember us loaning/selling more than one or two players to a single club, and the photo of him and Fergie looked more like a fan snap. Never good to be associated with this kinda stuff though, however tenuously.
cannot be considered definitively damning of Alex Ferguson or anyone else at Manchester United, but I've had to have a little lol at the Man Utd fans in this thread and on Facebook already dismissing the legitimacy and validity of the allegations and suggestions made in the programme.
There is, however, no suggestion that his ownership of the football club (or rather than holding company) or any of his specific football dealings is in anyway untoward. He hasn't, for example, leveraged great debts against our assests and proceeded to milk the profits (not that we make any!).
Besides which, it's always slightly tiresome when someone chooses to defend what seem to be the unsavoury actions of someone associated with their club by pointing to the unrelated and very different in natures actions of another club. I'll let you off because you made a smiley face and I don't genuinely believe Ferguson is involved in anything too shady- too much too lose for relatviely little gain.
I obviously can't see this where I am
what were the allegations/evidence?
just claims that Ferguson has close ties with an organisation who manage and set up funds to buy multiple English football clubs with the aim of getting them promoted to the Premier League and then selling for a profit.
I took that be a non-executive, honorary role. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised if he's a proper employee. Wouldn't matter anyway- Robson is clearly a nobody in Utd's hierarchy.
I do agree that Ferguson probably knows Sim much better than his lawyer's claim and it's obvious that managers are happier to deal with people they know.
it's all clear as mud
If they were referring to the entire thing, conversation included, I think we can stop discussing the show in serious terms.
but you should be able to catch it on the YouTube 4od Documentaries channel within a couple of days
i couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for the little Chinese fella.
he clearly thought he and fergy were blood brothers or something....only for Sir Alex to now probably downplay their relationship as much as possible
'who?.....oh, that guy.....aye, that's right... he does a nice kung-pow chicken...'
'alex....we brosurs alex....alex, we blud brosers'
'sorry pal. i like your food, but i'm not really sure what you're talking about'
'alex it's more than my food alex. come on alex. remember that time in Honk Kong Alex where i had to rush to the chemist after you spent all night....'
'ok pal, off you go now'
'after a man care for another man like that alex, it bond for life alex....
