In the mixed. Would highly recommend it. Not so much if you're a bit screamish as there's ducks and animals and stuff in there. You may want to shower when you get out too.
I'd recommend the mixed pond rather than the men's, my male friend went over to swim in the men's and got reprimanded in the toilets for NOT cruising.
in the Women's. I bloody love it. One time I swam next to a little trio of ducklings, and another time a moorhen swam past me with twigs, making its nest. Both times I've been when there's been a heatwave for the previous week, and I've still not been able to breathe for about 5 seconds due to the cold when I've got in. But then you get used to it, and it's great. Hoping to go this weekend if it stays warm!
but they're lovely. Can get stupidly busy on hot weekends though. I've been meaning to go to the Mens ones for ages but can't find the appropriate swimwear.
In the last few years however I have become the most appalling wuss when it comes to thropwing myself into cold expanses of water. I used to swim in the Clyde and cherwell all the time in my youth (rat syphillis- CHECK.)
quiet, peaceful, relaxing, fun
not very London at all
and yet, thoroughly English somehow
