For those who don't know, that translates to 'The Spanish Aubergine'
it's called Pot Luck in English.
I might watch that tonight, it's been staring at me for a while.
very god film. Pretty simple and easy going but aesthetically beautiful and very touching at times. Also has it's funny moments, think UP but clayanimation, I personally think it's better than up
the life aquatic with steve zissou
but watch it anyway cos it's great.
ah well, it's still great.
And children of men is also great, saw it for the first time a few weeks ago.
Just over ten years, but who's counting?

Ichi The Killer
I Saw The Devil
A Tale Of Two Sisters
My Summer Of Love
The Lives Of Others
Man On Wire
Beat That My Heart Skipped
Squid and the Whale
Far From Heaven
+ Far From Heaven I would not've immediately thought of but yeh I can get behind that. For Almodovar I would vote for Talk to Her, but could also believe Bad Education...which I guess suggests what a good decade he's had
What a great film.
yeah...have not seen it in timeeeeee...but reminded of it, it's a great movie. have you seen any Douglas Sirk?
Haven't seen anything else of his though.
Man on Wire
A Serious Man
The Beat That My Heart Skipped
The White Ribbon
35 Shots of Rum (for the dance sequence alone -one of my favourite scenes in any film, ever)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Mulholland Drive (my favourite of the 00s personally)
City Of God
and recently 13 Assassins might make it in there, too
The fuckin' Commodores, man!
^reppin' team Denis.
I cried and cried in the cinema at the vomit scene [http://bit.ly/lSm1zV]
Whenever people tell me that I hate comedies (probably because I do, at least most of what passes for comedy), I mention that film.
The Lives of Others. Truly one of the greatest films ever made.
Watching it tomorrow night, really looking forward to it.
I've got The Station Agent to watch tomorrow meself... massively looking forward to that one too.
probably one of my favourite ever films.
...it is a flawless piece of cinema. One of the most emotionally rewarding films to have ever been made.
Well, waddya know.
Although Monsters Inc. was also my second favourite film of the 00's so you could've almost got a ^This out of me then. So close.
You must really hate Jason Bourne.
Not out of choice, just never seen any. I feel that a marathon one weekend would right that wrong...
...than many of your archly 'serious' films that prop up best of lists. Add in the fact it's entertaining and fucking hilarious and you've got yourself a masterpiece.
if you want to see the best shoot out ever and lots and lots of people getting blown up
is well worth a watch
If you've never heard of it, approach it as a hard-hitting drama.
...lots of sexy french ones where nothing happens...
No Country For Old Men
But here is another vote for the following:
Into the Wild - Touching true story about a young man disillusioned with the comforts of modern life and... well, you can probably guess where he goes..
Children of Men - Dystopian Britain suffers from infertility (as does the world) and everything descends into chaos as the human race gets old. Really well shot.
Pan's Labyrinth - A very gritty and sometimes unsettling take on the tradional fairytale; certainly not for young children! A child living in civil war-torn Spain leads a second life in her wonderful imagination as an antidote to the grim reality.
Casino Royale 007 - Better than expected (at least by me)! At very least it's believable (at a stretch), which is a marked improvement over recent James Bond offerings. Some of the high points in the film would give Bourne a run for his money! It's also nice to go back to how it all started for Bond.
I'll probably be insulting your intelligence if I said the Lord of The Rings trilogy. Believe the hype.
