Has he gone dead weird now/more weird? Talk about him.
But when he was PM, even when he did stuff I didn't agree with, I trusted him and liked him.
Since he's left office though he's turned into a proper fucking nutjob
but I want to know what nutjob things he's said or done.
He seems to have gone mega mega hardline on terrorism - like Bill O'Reilly hard line
PRO-democracy uprisings across the Middle East this year prove that invading Iraq was the right thing to do, according to the ex-PM.
He declared: This is an extraordinary moment in time. It is a genuine revolution and what we should now know is that, in fact, Arab and Muslim people do want democracy. It should make us very proud of what our troops did in Iraq.
If we really want to trace it back, it starts with the sub-prime crisis in the US, the subsequent global recession, and the resulting price rises in the commodities markets leading to high inflation and increasing poverty. Notice how the only regimes to topple have been those most noticeably propped up by western support.
Iraq /became/ a humanitarian mission? Retrospectively, like?
24 February 2001, Camp David TB had put on what was to all intents and purposes a vest and I said you can't wear that, and he said why not? I said because it's a fucking vest and you're the prime minister.
Eventually he agreed to put a sweater on, which was some ghastly Nicole Farhi creation, on top of the vest, and it looked ridiculous. I said please, please take them off and wear something else when we see the press. Eventually, by persuading him that he would have to answer questions about foot and mouth, which was getting more serious, I persuaded him to wear a shirt and tie.
leave my shirt out? I'm from a generation of men who always tuck their shirt in. i tuck my shirt in every day, it's part of getting dressed.
I can’t work out whether he was slightly more sane when in office, or whether it’s the fact that he no longer has the whole Downing Street gang keeping him on the straight and narrow.
he's always been a slippery shitstick of the highest order, consumed by vanity and delusions of grandeur.
honest conservatives > manipulative authoritarian fake socialists
At least you know where you stand.
In the other, you think you're standing on nice lovely carpet but its instead muddy water. I know where I'd rather be.
aware of that i'm in danger of contracting weil's disease if i don't get my shit together. much better than to inevitably realise anyway, but too late in the day, finding yourself shivering and riddled on a soggy old rug.
this is all totally academic, of course. there's no such thing as an honest conservative. only the fully deluded ones that have totally convinced themselves that they're a force for good. as opposed to the ones who still have that nagging realisation at the back of their mind (but aren't letting on) that they're selfish idiotholes.
