Nothing else to report, really.
presumably a lot of people got hurt last night.
there were rumours going round that a fan had died in the stadium, and there were photos that made it look like the stadium was on fire, neither of those confirmed as far as i saw
still though, River Plate getting relegated. it's genuinely earth-shattering

I'll have Shane Long if he wants to sit on the bench! Hardly a replacement for Darren Bent though.
he wasn't even that good at it either.
It was Fraser Forster really.
He's a bit shit.
Even if it's true I'd be amazed if that's not matched or bettered by clubs who can pay he him about twice as much. Accepted wisdom seems to be he's a fall back for whoever doesn't get Alexis Sanchez.
Still, I'd very literally poo my pants with excitement if we get him.
Brilliant. This should take our centre-mid count up to about 9.
Who needs wingers anyway? I'd love both of aboynamedgoo's rumours to join us but it seems we're not interested in anything but defensive midfielders.
And if what we're doing with Raul Meireles is true (ie. showing him the exit over a contract dispute), I feel a bit sick with the club.
I'm quite happy with our transfers up to now. You don't get back in the CL without having a squad with both strength and depth, which is what we've lacked for ages. At least someone at the club seems to be aware of this now.
And yeah you're very right about the depth. We've always had a first XI and then a bench of rubbish / too-young kids in the past decade or so. Having competition among equally talented players is a bonus.
But that should surely come after the actual problem positions are solved, surely? We don't currently have any wingers capable to get us where we want to be, or a leftback.
I guess a lot of it depends on how much money we have. If it turns out we can buy an entirely new centre mid and still have loads left after to buy some width and another forward, fair play.
If you ignore the fact that he's an arsehole he's probably worth about that.
en route to the Gold Cup. Gio dos Santos scores a lovely goal to round off the 4-2 final win. Hernandez gets Golden Boot and MVP awards. The US defence is dire.
apart from Spurs.
I imagine he's reknown for having a massive attitude problem which is why people aren't snapping him up seeing as he's listed.
but he must be a tosser for Harry not to want him in the squad.
the way he can pass a ball he'd be in the starting eleven every week' or something
i cannot think of any other sport where the difference between genders in terms of entertainment value is so marked
women's football is, for the most part rubbish. but why? why only football?
and one is pretty much semi-professional status at best, the difference might well be marked.
But the point is comparing men's and women's football is stupid, and some women's football is pretty decent to watch. It just gets lots of 'lolz look at the rubbish keepers' nonsense.
because it's been so over-shadowed by the monolith of male football for so long, there's nowhere near the same level of professionalism or skill level you see for instance in female teenis. They've only just sorted out something resembling a professional league and most of the England squad are semi-professional at best
if they ever want to enjoy it. I can imagine it developing differently, with different tactics, different playing style etc., but people just want it to be "as good" as men's football.
according to the Beeb:
DID YOU KNOW?
Cesc Fabregas is a life-long Barca fan who watched his first game as a nine-month old baby
but it will have to be on our terms and at £27m they can get fucked, frankly. At present it looks like Cesc is true to his word that he won't try to force a move so even though it's seemingly a one club market, there's no real pressure on us to lower the price.
At a guess we'd deal at about £40m, really can't see Barca going that high though so it mght come down to which squad players/kids they're willing to chuck in. £30m + Thiago would be pretty juicy.
I did specifically ask for the Bowie mix of 'Raw Power' to be put on as soon as I came out of the womb though so I suppose it's possible.
They were willing to deal last summer, Barcelona just never stumped up enough cash. Doubt they will this year either, behind the Mes Que un Club stuff and the 97000 seat stadium they're a financial shambles.
but considering the sheer size & success of Barca, the lack of a single owner to leverage debt on them and the fact they negotiate their own tv deals it's ridiculous that they're not swimming in cash.
AS WE SPEAK
that sheet, ffs. :D
Do you reckon that rent-a-WAG with the wedgie is his girlfriend?
Manager Marcus Law has made a request for single and double bed linen as he is currently working on a couple of homes preparing them for the new intake of players for the new season. After the 'spring cleaning ' on Sunday it is hoped that players can move in during the week but before they can there is an urgent need for bed linen
If any supporter has any clean single or double bed linen that is surplus to requirement can you please drop it into the club office at the Lamb or call 65798 after 10.00am on Monday so that we can make plans to collect if you cannot get to the ground
Good one Tamworth.
Being as £13m for Villas-Boas was pretty unheard of it's probably safe to assume that compensation to clubs won't be much over £20m. So about £40m in paying off managers if you believe the original figure.
Fair to say a lot, mind.
so will throw it in here to see if anyone can be bothered checking it out
Sent Sky Sports rumour things some players various distant relatives have seen at an airport
Here we go
