what are you having for lunch?

sophiacherryx [Edit] [Delete] 35 replies 13:46, 20 June '11

and do you know what you're having for diner yet?

im having leftovers from saturdays indian take-away.
advice needed -
i have no microwave, should i put the curry and rice in the oven or re-heat it on the hob? it MUST be cooked through properly cos its chicken and i dont want to die.

i will be having -
chicken dopiaza
rice
half an onion bhaji
one piece of lamb tikka
almost a whole garlic naan

tried a new place, lovely food but portions were a bit stingey.

  • I'm having a sardine sandwich.

Am I going to be judged for that?

    moousee | 20 Jun '11, 13:48 | X
    • i haven't had a sardine for years

i like em barbequed. are they fresh or tinned?

      sophiacherryx @moousee | 20 Jun '11, 13:52 | X
      • tinned.

I've got the tin with me, and a crusty roll from Tezzers, Its going to smell when I open the tin, but I'll be in the kitchen at work, so it will always smell of food.

Still, people don't seem to like sardines.

  • Dude - if the chicken was cooked properly the first time

there is no likelyhood of food poisoning.

    Silkyskillz11 | 20 Jun '11, 13:53 | X
    • that's not entirely true.

        • it depends on how the chicken has been stored since the first cooking

and how it was cooled. i know for a fact that this chicken has been out of the refridgerator since Saturday evening. so there is a small risk that bacteria could have grown on the meat.

  • i've got some cheese topped tiger bread with seriously strong spreadable chilli cheese, ham and whole grain mustard

i've also got a kiwi yoghurt, a nectarine, plums and a pear, a blush paer, that i'm not sure is any good.

  • fry it up, and add some extra ingredients if you have them, eg mushroom and tomato

I always find that Indian takeaway tastes better reheated for some reason

(currently have four separate pig-derived meat products in the fridge so having a week of various double-pork combinations) and some homemade mushroom soup that has been in the fridge for a few days. how long is an acceptable time to keep mushroom soup?
