Threads about dating sites seem popular, have you heard about this one?
surely no one has been a mosher since 2005. Or maybe I'm getting old.
I love sluts with tats. Seriously, this is all going to be fat people in Whitby right?
neither is asdadating.com, seeing as it redirects nowadays
is that properly homophobic, or just massively lazy on their part?
it just has two options:
man seeking woman
woman seeking man.
Thats it. No man on man action mentioned. Which I would assume is discriminatory.
but to not have the option kinda seems odd/wrong. does it fall into the same category as the B&B that didn't want to accept same sex couples?
I assume there are dating websites specifically for men seeking men / women seeking women without the option for hetrosexual searches... while it feels like an oversight (and a missed opportunity on Kerrang's part, shirley?) and not a little old fashioned, I'm not sure it illegal-level discrimination.
There is gay metal nights in London so its not as if its an alien concept. Seems very short sighted.
but gaydar is specifically aimed towards gay men. kerrang dating is aimed at (i assume) people that read Kerrang and like the music within. Whom are going to be varying different sexualities.
I do agree that it is uncertain if they are actually being homophobic, but someone must have mentioned it along the line?
Just had a look on both and they ask what level of relationship you're looking for (inc. boyfriend on gaydar and girlfriend on gaydargirls).
Although it'd likely be a waste of their time, I can't see anything restricting women from signing up and searching on gaydar or men signing up and searching on gaydargirls (for chat, or whatever?).
the marketing's pretty overt, but from the looks of the front pages (and without signing up to either) it'd be pretty easy to argue that gaydar and uniformdating are more inclusive than Kerrang, seeing as the former two haven't limited their signups to EITHER Men seeking Women, OR vice versa, OR NOTHING ELSE.
Even if I'm barkin up the wrong tree here, it defo seems like an odd oversight.
can you unselect it once you've chosen?
i remember them trying a while back to coerce you into picking.
Defo not having a go, just that something's just popped into my head from the weekend: a TV ad for www.uniformdating.com who are defo pushing the idea of bagging a guy/girl in uniform, but were quite clear in saying that it was open to everyone. i.e. they had 'an angle', but weren't limiting themselves to that. Dunno if that's for legal reasons. Also, just checked and uniformdating has same-sex options.
than crap indie.
21st Century SNARLING ROCK MONSTERS
very intrigued as to what snarling rock monsters have emerged in the last 10 years time...
OH, I thought you said Sploshers.
*slowly backs out of thread*
I think Tastebuds did what I'd have done but far better.
...is there a hot or not site that has pitchfork rating scale?
DiS already is a dating site.
It's one less now. You're dumped. I thought we had something special.
first time in a while, actually. a bit of baguette with moroccan houmous, cucumber, and lettuce. gonna eat it right now.
He only started the site so that he could bone indie girls, or at least cop off with Emmy The Great or George Pringle. And all he got was a quick fondle from Ricky Wilson.
He's the indie Hugh Heffner.
exactly. it's a build your own sort of thing. like, a pub isn't a dating den but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
have you ever dated a diser?
seriously though, good to see 'em get their act together
WELL DONE SEAN
IMM'A RAID IT.
I enjoy that they didn't mention the 'anyone who reads kerrang is already gay' comment.
THIS IS FANTASTIC!
Mother of three, "slightly curvy", likes cuddles
I made an account...have two messages even though my profile is a joke one. Can't read them unless I pay. :(
there don't seem to be THAT many 'kerrang' type babes on there.
none of Kerrang magazine's editorial staff knew anything about that site until they started getting loads of complaints about it, gotta love being part of a megaglobalcross-platformmediabrand(tm) eh?
i think it's a Kerrang Radio thing, which I think is based in Birmingham and run by a different bunch of people to the mag. I know when we released the thisGIRL album it was pretty frustrating to be getting love from the TV and Radio stations, and the magazine pulling features because we wouldn't pay for them to goto Spain to do the interview, instead of doing it anywhere in the UK. was nice to see they continued to support the band after their readers named them best new band. i'm not bitter, likes.
looking forward to seeing what James McMahon (better known as James Jam, who wrote for DiS in the early days) does when he takes over as editor of the mag in a few weeks time.
