This bloke, for example:
I would rarely keep a clipping from a national newspaper next to my desk, but I read that story five years ago and I still have it pinned to my noticeboard.
The photo makes it more surreal - the bloke should at least be a little bit ashamed, instead he's happy to pose sittig on the loo (with the wire cutters) and gurn at the camera. I bet he only got paid about £200 for the story.

Have you wronged anyone lately to the extent that you have reason to feel guilt? Maybe, its quite hard to quantify
im not sure sadness works in this kinda comparison way y'know
and try and work out a way of making things better
