Just Ricky Gervais, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Louis CK all having a chat. Let's watch.
I can link you to Pirate Bay so you can download it though.
ok im doing that
thanks for nothing
nice one zapsta, you prick.
will watch this on sky atlantic if its on there. Chris Rock can probably fuck off actually.
Interesting; intermittently amusing; Chris Rock was relatively restrained. I really, really don't get Jerry Seinfeld at all though. Still. Apparently he's worth half a billion dollars. $500,000,000. I can only assume it's because he doesn't swear. Like the My Family of stand-up.
where he had Larry David sorting him out, and all the other actors being awesome and pretty much carrying Jerry, to the point that it became almost fun to laugh at his basic jokes.
jerry's character is second only to george, not to mention the chemistry between him and george. his standup bits before and after the episodes were light hearted at best, occasionally amusing, but i firmly contend that the character 'jerry seinfeld' is one of the all time greats
and when he was left in control of the last two seasons of seinfeld, he did a good job. not up to the same standard as him + david, but still better than 99% of sitcoms
I think his stand-up's pretty weak tbh and he seemed a bit like the odd one out amongst these three seasoned pros.
A couple of times i thought he took things too seriously, or overreacted and you could feel the other three recoil.
Still a good watch though.
he's literally like a 14 year old boy, likes to joke about his big ego but then at the same time tries to revel unsubtly in his modesty. everything about him is just forced and awkward. usually on TV he's around people who play up to it because they're dull (jonathan ross, any chat show host) but shandling had no time for it. pretty much the only time i've seen him around someone that didn't care that he was ricky gervais and unsurprisingly, it ended in tension
Sittin' on a cock cos I'm gay was just hilarious without irony or anything tagged onto it. Gervais didn't agree. I think his stand-up suffers for this as well. Maybe.
Gervais was down as exec producer so he obviously had some role in putting it together and he was the one who was driving the conversation. He was also the one who seemed least comfortable and with his neuroses on display. However, without his honesty, it would have been a total damp squib as I think the others would have been too comfortable to open up. It had some very funny moments though and I do love all four of them.
