I live in a city. But a pretty small city. But you already know all this.
cathedral aside, Ely's barely a hamlet.
(Though Chelmsford is actually competing to become a city at the Diamond Jubilee).
I spend my lunch breaks loitering in the Chelmer Shopping Bit.
Then Beer & Burger & the Ivory Pin.
Do you ever go to the Bitterscene gigs?
(for a few more days)
(For a couple more weeks)
after a year+ away. I only found out yesterday, so I'm trawling the internet looking for somewhere to live at the minute. Already seen a few parking spaces that are comfortably in the middle range of my rent budget, which doesn't really fill me with confidence. Going to head down this weekend for some viewings, so fingers crossed...
How about you - where bounce you off to?
I didn't realise London was so overpopulated.
Home to Maggie Thatcher & The Witchfinder General.
but you probs don't know her.
That means he pronounced 'nene' NEN.
Here we go.
I'm a Milton Kenyen, born and bred. My first band played the Soundhaus a few times, Roadmender once, but otherwise didn't really venture into Northants...
We weren't very good.
i've been to cities though
Tower Hamlets in London.
your type ain't welcome round here.
so there's a precedent there. although the towers in westminster are considerably more impressive than the towers in tower hamlets, i presume.
Arguably better than the Palace of Westminster.
Then there's the City of London, in London. It's complicated.
if you were an idiot
Technically Reading IS NOT a city.
Up against Tower Hamlets, Chelmsford, Southend, Blackpool, Middlesborough and some others.
it's bid before but never got it. I think Brighton and Hove was picked last time.
Have you even SEEN an iPod that isn't white yet?
its technically london borough of havering but its kind of essex. i'm unsure.
so yeah, you're in london
its just on the cusp.
Market Harborough, south Leicestershire, betwixt Leicester and Northampton and home of Martin Johnson (who I recently spotted in Homebase).
I'm a city boy though, grew up in Bradford and lived in Manchester and Leicester.
but it doesn't feel like one. And it's bloody ace.
