On the spot fines for undertaking.
Courts will no longer have to deal with careless driver cases, the government has announced. The idea is that from 2012 police will be able to hand out on the spot fines of at least £80 plus three points on a driver's licence. And drivers who got disqualified would have to go on a training course and maybe take another test before they were able to have a licence again.
The Department for Transport (DfT) said that too many motorists get away with careless driving such as cutting up other drivers, overtaking them on the inside or driving too close behind them.

Ok. As long as they sort out the 55mph middle lane hoggers with and empty lane 1 to their left and the 59mph overtaking lorries who take quarter of an hour to complete their move, thusly backing up traffic in the outside lane for miles on end.
(Sorry. I've got a big journey tomoz and i'm preparing myself for the chumpish drivers.)
