Sir Cliff Richard will be appearing live at the Capital FM Arena Nottingham on Saturday 15th October 2011 as part of his Soulicious Tour.
The live tour and album concept has been put together by television star and music producer David Gest and will see Sir Cliff dueting with some incredible soul legends.
Already confirmed for the tour are Dennis Edwards & The Temptations Review: the Original Grammy Award-Winning lead singer of many of The Temptations classic hits (Papa Was A Rollin Stone and I Can't Get Next To You).
They'll be joined by Russell Thompkins, Jr & the New Stylistics: the original lead singer of all the Stylistics hit records (Can't Help Falling In Love; You Make Me Feel Brand New and You Are Everything).
Also joining Cliff will be Candi Staton (You Got The Love and Young Hearts Run Free); Billy Paul (Me and Mrs. Jones and Your Song), Freda Payne (Band Of Gold and Deeper And Deeper) and Percy Sledge (When A Man Loves A Woman and Dark End Of The Street).
The amazing list goes on with Brenda Holloway (Every little bit hurts and When I'm gone), Deniece Williams (Lets hear it for the boy and It's gonna take a miracle), Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. (Aquarius/ Let the Sunshine In and You don't have to be a star to be in my show).
According to Gest: A mutual friend of ours, TV presenter Gloria Hunniford, approached me about working with Sir Cliff. I came up with the idea of doing an album of duets with soul legends as well as a number of modern R&B artists. Most of the tunes are very contemporary and do not be surprised if a rapper or two appear on this album! There will also be a few remakes that have an exciting new twist to them.
Celebrating his 53rd anniversary in the music business this year, Cliff Richard is indisputably Britain's all-time greatest hit-maker - the ultimate pop star!
No other UK band or solo artist is even close to equalling his 123 single hits, or can claim to have occupied a place in our charts for the equivalent of over 20 years!
Highlights of this remarkable career are too numerous to mention, but successful films, musicals, concert tours and television shows have all contributed to the Cliff Richard legend.
