there I said it.
kate mccann doing an interview in The Sun tomorrow to promote her new book about her daughter's disappearance.
might as well. in that situation.
this is a probably a pretty irreconcilable difference of opinion. and not sure i agree w/ myself so i clicked abandon half-way thru posting, but mebbe that button is just there for the lols ...anyway i imagine once something like that happens your life is pretty much over, and it's just a question of getting as much money/catharsis as possible.
but then it's never happened to me so i don't know.
but I don't think trying to make money out of it is a good idea at all.
not for themselves personally
not 100% sure I believe it though.
i thought i saw a sign in WH Smith. It wont be very good
so, so guilty
The corpse-sniffing dogs, Gerry's dodgy friend who was with them on the holiday, their actions following the disappearance. Hmm...
corpse sniffing dugz and dodgy friends?
i always though they looked guilty as fuck anyway
and they detected traces of blood and cadaver in the apartment, the McCann's hire car and on Kate's clothes. The dogs are supposedly the best at what they do as well.
Here's a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lrrMoUr3OA
Gerry's friend: On a previous holiday a couple (friends of the McCanns) noticed how Gerry's friend was making some pretty lewd remarks about the children and doing some EXTREMELY suspect gestures involving his finger. The couple made a statement to the police and everything, you can read it online but I can't remember how to find it.
the dodgy friend was with them on the fateful holiday. Or maybe I shouldn't as it's probably libel or something.
If they hadn't have been a 'normal' middle-class family then their other kids would have been taken away.
You DO NOT leave kids on their own.
burn them at the stake!
back in the day
my pokemon knowledge is still up to scratch.
on a live webcam stream, one of those chat roulette type things, but more adult orientated. there was a girl roughly the age she would be now sat between two gypsies. man and wife. the wife got naked at one point with the kid still sat there.
the kid looked a fair amount like her, and a zoom in of the stream showed a mark on her eye in the same place madeleine had one. they stayed on cam for a while and then when people started asking questions about madeleine they covered the cam with a sheet and there was just audio for hours and then eventually nothing.
the theory being that she was sold to the gypsies. it sounds almost implausible but when you look at the screenshots it's hard to believe it isn't her.
even if it isn't, there is something very strange about her parents. it'll come out one day.
There's some evil mother fuckers in this world
even though the link above isn't that. and 4chan is about, and archives threads, on a very wide range of subjects
but yeah, cool story bro
thought that your link was to a jpg of some woman on cam wanking off while sat next to a 10 year old girl. I guess the 4chan detective was embroiled in some Pete Townsend style research when he stumbled upon it.
sorry to break it to you
believing Madeleine Mccann was sold to gypsies and then discovered on webcam by a bunch of 15 year old hentai wanking, manga-loving internet sleuths
You'll end up sacked, your family in a dungeon and up on child abuse charges before the end of next week.
I'm doing it right now. Piece of piss.
in roughly the same area where madeilene went missing. with suspicious and disturbing adults who aren't her biological parents. and with the same eye mark as madeilene.
okay well "hard to believe it isn't her" was a little strong, there's plenty of room for skepticism over that 'discovery' but surely you have to admit, given what was presented there, it's fair to say there's a decent chance that it could be her?
why hasnt 4chan reported it?
bystander effect. i remember at the time people were urging others to make the phonecalls, but given the high profile of the case and the anonymity of 4chan, to put yourself in the middle of that probably sounds like a nightmare to most. somebody might have called the police, but as an anonymous tip-off it's kind of a difficult thing for the police to act upon. /b/ threads get deleted from public view in the blink of an eye, so in order for a criminal prosecution to even begin chris poole (4chan owner) needs to be served with a request to produce copies of the thread (which has happened before, he even testified in court)
so you can see how the whole thing can just breakdown fairly easily with one weak link, it's not like "officer, the criminal is in the park now!"
personally, i think the eye mark is grounds for at least further investigation, but for all i know that case may now be closed entirely.
Way too low-res to make out her pupils
however on the day there were a lot of screenshots taken from their stream, which was decent. somebody full-screened it and capped it, then zoomed in on her eye, and that picture is visible if you scroll down a little.
there will be people from that day with folders full of pics to verify that, i'm sure, but of course it's not definitive evidence.
However, on wikipedia, it says that when the mother was interviewed by the Portuguese police she remained silent:
Kate returned for further interview later on 7 September and was formally declared a suspect by the Portuguese police. During this interview Kate used her right to remain silent.
WHY DO THAT?!
But you can't blame them for not thinking straight.
Maybe she was suffering from PTSD and the shock of what had happened, maybe maybe maybe
anyone the police question in relation to a crime is called a 'suspect' even when they aren't a suspect in the sense that we'd say in this country. something like that anyway.
but you did not, yay.
some sort of bid to get my pitiful amount of posts (based on year on the board) up.
well, there's 3 more posts right there.
the production and distribution of oven chips.
I guess you can be a bellend without resorting to filicide though.
Why have they done a book and serialising it through a World Exclusive today in The Sun.
Apparently the first 9 pages were dedicated to them today with nothing that we haven't heard from them before. (with an advert for Sun readers to pre order the book at reduced rate).
Why would you want to cash in on such a tragic event?
To fund related charitable work?
Or because, although plenty of it will be generated, money isn't the primary motivation behind the writing and publication of the book?
There's an article on BBC News today about a 'white glow' in babies eyes being a possible cancer warning, only shows up on photos...
Well look at this picture of her:
Pretty much the exact symptom they say to look out for:
that suggest what she might look like now. The one on the left is her living in a cold climate and the right is her living in a hot one:
That's kinda creepy cos the girl in that webcam screenshot doesn't look a million miles from the right image.
OH SENNNIOOOORRRRR MARSTON, YOU MUST 'ELP ME
Trying to sell your stuff on a sympathetic thread about Madeleine McCann. I hope you learn your lesson and stop this now.
I don't get it, and I've never lost a child whilst being on holiday either so I don't know how I would act in that situation... Can't imagine it'd be 'normally'.
A lot of needless cynicism exists around them if you ask me...
BECAUSE SHE'S BEEN LYING IN THE SUN ALL WEEK!!!!
The Shergar of the 21st century.
joking about a missing, most likely dead, kid and her parents grief. Hmmmm. Well done.
Lose one of your siblings/kids then come back joking about it on here. Go on. It'll be a right chortle.
I think the book and everything else is to fund the legal costs and continuing search. Also, in my opinion, to keep her alive in their heads. Loss is a werid beast. Sometimes you want to keep banging on about the person, like they're still here, and therefore never forgotten.
Sorry to be so serious on a Wed morning. Carry on..........
no idea what a werid beast is.
I think that is a cross between a weird beast and a worried beast. You know, like a zebra or a mule or something.
there's a difference between joking indirectly and using a controversial subject matter to spike it a bit (daddy or chips?) and then directly joking and being intentionally vitriolic towards the grieving. seeing as it's highly unlikely that they browse DiS, does it even matter?
also, how do you know that someone wouldn't make jokes about their own grief? some people find ways to laugh at their misfortune, regardless of of tragic it is, it's natural. i bet you her parents have privately shared a little joke at some point, the kind of thing that would make people outraged if it was taken out of context.
how do I know that someone wouldn't make jokes about their own grief?
My brother died 3 years ago this summer. I haven't joked about it once. MY family haven't joked about it once, unless they all have a wee joke about it in private, but I very much doubt it.
I know friends who have lost babies/young kids. No jokes there either, just crumpled people getting by the best they can.
Sorry if you considered my post patronising.
However, if I read a story on here about you passing away in some tragic, yet comic, accident involving a falling ice block of wee from an airplane then I might treat myself to a giggle and joke about it.
In fact, when the McCann's moved out of the holiday apartment and into a villa while the investigation dragged on, they were only a few doors down them, and my grandad used to complain about TV vans blocking his driveway.
None of us can really comment on what happened aside from wild speculation, but I will say this. Drive ten minutes from the village and you find yourself in the middle of a hundreds of square miles of barren, hilly, desolate scrubland. It wouldn't take a genius to hide something there for a very, very long time without anyone stumbling across it.
BUT - there is something about them that makes me wonder. I agree.
show your workings.
Having said that, I don't really understand why people would buy things like a book on Maddie or read countless newspaper articles. Whether you believe them or not, it becomes very unsavoury.
And then you get the 'masses' judging whether they are either guilty of selling her to gypsies or something without ever seeing a shred of evidence either way first hand. Why is everyone suddenly an expert?
This isn't a direct dig at you codswallop, I just don't understand why things like this are subject to such continued interest. People are weird.
A lot, if not all the blame has to be placed with the consumers.
are you a mother who lost their child? no
are you specifically kate mccann? no.
different people react to different things in different ways, you don't think it's at all possible that you might try to cling to maintaining some kind of self-respect, for some women this is done through making sure they look presentable when the rest of your life has just fallen apart? maybe that isn't what she felt and i really don't know at all, but i'm not solipsistic enough to imagine that simply because everyone doesn't act in a way that conforms to my limited expectations, they must be lying.
well, i agree with the no point carrying on this conservation part. but i think you missed the point of that post a bit. i'm not saying i believe them particularly, i'm pretty disinterested tbh, i'm just saying i have no evidence to the contrary and you haven't presented any either
Why do you hate them so much? Do they owe you money? Did you lose a bet on when they would owe up to it? Seriously, why do you care? Why not just ignore it?
Mysterious disappearances always pique the interest of the general public, see Lindbergh Baby, Lord Lucan, Shergar etc. With the McCann's not seeming the most sympathetic of people and with stuff like the dog video posted up there it just arouses people's interest further.
I just don't why and the level of attention given. It just seems like a sick voyeurism to me. There's nothing I can do to help, its none of my business and it can only hinder any police work that might be beneficial.
I said to him, "Why is it, Alfonse, that decent, well-meaning and respons ible people find themselves intrigued by catastrophe when they see it on tele vision?"
I told him about the recent evening of lava, mud and raging water that the children and I had found so entertaining.
We wanted more, more.
"It's natural, it's normal," he said, with a reassuring nod. "It happens to everybody."
"Because we're suffering from brain fade. We need an occasional catastrophe to break up the incessant bombardment of information."
"It's obvious," Lasher said. A slight man with a taut face and slicked-back
"The flow is constant," Alfonse said. "Words, pictures, numbers, facts, graphics, statistics, specks, waves, particles, motes. Only a catastrophe gets our attention. We want them, we need them, we depend on them. As long as
they happen somewhere else. This is where California comes in. Mud slides, brush fires, coastal erosion, earthquakes, mass killings, et cetera. We can relax and enjoy these disasters because in our hearts we feel that Californiadeserves whatever it gets. Californians invented the concept of life-style.
This alone warrants their doom."
Cotsakis crushed a can of Diet Pepsi and threw it at a garbage pail.
"Japan is pretty good for disaster footage," Alfonse said. "India remains largely untapped. They have tremendous potential with their famines, monsoons, religious strife, train wrecks, boat sinkings, et cetera. But their dis
asters tend to go unrecorded. Three lines in the newspaper. No film footage,
no satellite hookup. This is why California is so important. We not only enjoy seeing them punished for their relaxed life-style and progressive social
ideas but we know we're not missing anything. The cameras are right there.
They're standing by. Nothing terrible escapes their scrutiny."
"You're saying it's more or less universal, to be fascinated by TV disasters
"For most people there are only two places in the world. Where they live and their TV set. If a thing happens on television, we have every right to find it fascinating, whatever it is."
"I don't know whether to feel good or bad about learning that my experience is widely shared."
"Feel bad," he said.
"It's obvious," Lasher said. "We all feel bad. But we can enjoy it on that level."
We were staying in the town just along from Praia Da Luz.
We visited Praia Da Luz very briefly, it was literally a ghost town. Don't think we saw a single person there when we were there.
I feel really sorry for the local people who lost their main income.
I've been back at least twice since it happened, both in summer, and it hasn't changed a thing. They're still building more apartments and villas. Twenty years ago it really was a ghost town.
Because the lads will definitely be putting post-it notes on his back saying 'I'm gay' and inking his prison slacks.
I might even have to consider banning him from my Friday evening soirees and I haven't had to ban anyone since Maudsley at Wakefield where he insisted everything be vegan, the poncey twat (pre-double murder brain eating incident, obvs).
