His stand-up to me is Russell Brand doing stand-up, not a comedian doing stand-up, same goes for his acting
...but I'm with you on the acting.
ANd there's no denying that he's quite an infectious personality.
i wish i could just watch his personality
they should just give him a talkshow
enjoyed him when he was going on about being a revolutionary and of course him as "a personality" was more interesting as a womaniser.
That's when he was at his most delirious. Wasn't really a fan of that. As Hitchens said...there's no leverage in a socialism anymore. Brand needs to stick to discussions on media, transcendental meditation, the ligaments of comedy and himself.
(judging by the radio shows of which ive listened to all, i've seen get him to the greek and a bit of his stand up and they were you know alright but not great) when he decided he was going to be celibate then went "off the wagon". good mix of that transcendental meditation stuff and going on about orgasms being about when you became one with god but also a bit of cynicism with him and matt morgan reflecting on the mad stuff he used to do for sketches like pissing himself. i guess it might just be cos the only time we see him nowadays he's pretty in control of how he's being presented and so it doesnt really feel as intimate/self knowing as the radio shows
