VGW's FOUL use of language has got the thread banned at my work, and I'm keen to see what goes down!
I feel kinda rude now, sorry.
what're your thoughts? I work in insurance at the moment, and I don't think that you can apply discrimination laws to policies at all. If you do that you will be saying that household insurance all has to be the same, because you can't discriminate against people in areas of low employment/high crime. It has to be risk based to remain fair.
whether they drink and smoke, how fat they are, etc.
Gender is different.
People who don't have the means to move out of a 'cheaper' lower income area are actually charged MORE on insurance. Its the way that it has to work though, insurance is based on risk, nothing else.
We could see their prices go up 25-30% and men's premiums could fall by about 10%.
