Got a phone call last week from a place I worked at last year for 6 months, offering me 6 months work again. I said yeah, that'd be great. He asked if I could go in the next day to see what 'we can offer you' I said okay.
When I got there he said I could be starting 'as early as a fortnight from now' but then told me that's leaving. Turns out he sent a letter to the board unhappy with how they were allocating their money and how they were changing certain things, and they replied with 'okay, we accept that as your resignation'. He said the reason he'd asked me to come down was to meet the manager that'd be taking over.
The new manager greeted me and the next ten minutes felt like an interview, which I wasn't expecting. He asked me if I knew how to do things that I'd been doing day in day out for the 6 months I worked there last year. I thought that was pretty annoying, but nevermind. The old manager was constantly praising me throughout.
Anyway the new manager just rang me and he's employed two people, one of whom will be a lad that worked with me last year and the other will be one that's never worked there. 'He's put me on the backburner' for now but he may be looking to take me on in April depending on how things progress, so 'is it okay if I keep in touch and let him know if I get a job in the meantime.'
No, fuck off lol.
