Tense huh. Thoughts?
Great performances, was always waiting to see what would happen next.
So tense as well, I've not known a film to eek out tension in it's entirety rather than just individual scenes as well as that.
I struggled a bit to buy some of the motivations for some of the supporting cast at times, wasn't really sure what Pope was offering in order for them to be sticking with him. I guess he was just the alpha male of the pack or ANIMAL KINGDOM really.
Anyway, yea, great film.
I gasped quite loudly at the final scene.
Very intense, very good. Jacki Weaver should have won Best Supporting Actress last night at the Oscars.
Never trust a nervous looking man in a hawaiian shirt.
The cast was brilliant and the a good script, couple of very surprising moments as well, always good when a film can really surprise you.
Really, really great. You know when you see those 'utterly gripping' quotes bandied about? Well this was actually utterly gripping. Came out of the cinema a bit shellshocked.
Pope (Mendehlson?) was terrifying. Star performer in a film with pitch perfect performances. Jackie Weaver was very good, although I thought she was gonna be more dominant.
Best film of the year so far for me.
Fucking hell, tense doesn't really cut it does it?
It's not a film that takes the easy route, that's for sure.
I knew we were in trouble from the moment the Pope spotted the sleeping girl - how tense was that scene?
the Pope - villain of the year.
The kid was totally gormless (and looked a lot like Francis Jeffers) but needed to be in order for the ending (WHAT AN ENDING!) to work.
Go see it.
