Alright going to london on sunday for a few days.....any places of interest i should check out?
so much to do in London that I can't go in to, but can meet you for a pint on one of those days before i head up to Scotland
Not sure where I will be in london, staying with a friend.
What have you 'done' already?
was meant to a while back but couldn't.
(popping into a couple of pubs around there), then along the river (past the Golden Hind and the Globe), along to Tate Modern, then to the South Bank, then, if you can, and the weather's clear, go on the London Eye (you can get tickets in advance to avoid the queues). Should be doable in a long afternoon.
any bars/venues worth visiting at night? should be alright as regards pubs but would be nice to check them out anyway.
then you're going to miss the weekend crowds (this is a good thing - they made the West End and Shoreditch almost unbearable on a Saturday night).
Have a search through here for upcoming gigs: http://www.ents24.com/web/whatson/music/london.html?genres=music&date=1298203932
Things that immediately leap out are: Buck65 on the 21st, Glasser, Gruf Rhys, Les Savy Fav and Caribou (all on the 22nd) and Darkstar on the 23rd.
Walk all the way up to the hill in the park and you've got a bloody great view of the entire city.
Also, walk along Oxford Street, popping into Nike Town, HMV and eating in McDonalds, then wander down to Leicester Square and stand there for two hours in the cold, while wearing a backpack.
be sure to loiter at the top of the exits of the tube at oxford street reading a huge map, completely oblivious to everything and everyone around you
The Egyptian book of the Dead at the British Museum
It's one of the most important and interesting objects in the history of man. It ends in March I think
Go visit my old house (and look for my dog)
even better if they still have the earthquake room, its a room set up like a japanese convenient store that quakes. i guess it does make light of something pretty serious but it's great
always wanted to know what it would be like to be japanese.
it even has audio of people panicking in japanese and earthquake sound effects, if you squint at the place its like you're actually in a japanese earthquake
Used to be a pub on... I think it was Warren Street? But got a feeling it's shut down now.
Did not manage to get to anything of the things listed above, but thanks anyway.
shoreditch, wandered around the tourist attractions but did not do much.Mostly pubs.
