What are you up to this weekend? hmm..
tonight I'm going to see Japanther
tomorrow and (most of) Sunday I'm in Oxford at the Blessing Force weekender
Monday night I'm going to see Bright Eyes
have my notice meeting about redundancy on Tuesday morning, might be a bit tired.
apparently, theres another fight.
but it doesn't matter because I'm currently internetless at home :'(
my old PC packed in and i can't get my usb modem to work on my new macbook. SIGH.
Picked up Hardcore Will Never Die... yesterday and am downloading the MP3s now so will be giving this an airing today.
Saturday - Over to Rodney Parade for Dragons v Edinburgh at 2pm and then round to a mate's to watch the Scotland v Wales game and drink the Becks he insists must go (and he refuses to drink).
Sunday - No plans, Under 8's rugby match is currently off. Might go for a wander round the Wetlands.
Then Something Serious!
Tomorrow I have to do work, watching some 6 Nations then And So I Watch You From Afar at the Borderline.
Then Sunday is QPR vs Nottingham Forest and Ireland vs France. My biggest sporting day of the year. And more work as well. Possibly a curry if I haven't overspent
I think we've been a bit lucky quite a few times this season, but then again we're occasionally ace (at home). Hmmmm....
I would have been going but for work payment issues.
We've been pretty similar, at times far and away the best team in the league. At other (Watford at home) we've been dreadful or lucky (Derby away, Palace away)
If Forest win, they'll be be well placed to go up as Champions.
If we win, then even if Forest win their 2 games in hand we will still be 5 points clear.
I feel a gentleman's agreement for a draw would be best for all concerned, but both times are gonna be desperate for the win
I'd like to watch some rugby at some point this weekend. Thats a nice manly sport.
Both of my club's fixtures have been cancelled
Knoew any good pubs where they're showing the rugby?
Think Wales vs Scotland are playing tomoz.
Cinema on the Cineworld pass a few times, might grab a pub lunch and watch the Manc derby, watch some rugby, finish reading Never Let Me Go so I can see the film next weekend, maybe do some sort of faux-Valentines Day as I'm out on Monday night ...
err, I am mostly watching rugby and moving. cheers.
- Trawling through the first draft of my dissertation
- Meeting an old friend for afternoon tea/gossip
- Might go to a Conquering Animal Sound instore at Avalanche
- Watching Lost
i saw them support zola jesus back in september and was quietly impressed.
Tomorrow - band practice with my other band, then a gig in the evening.
Sunday - Recording with the band I practiced with on Friday.
I'm still a little bit jet lagged so I'm going to be exhausted by the end of it!
I’m off to Something Serious tonight, then tomorrow maybe the cinema or And So I Watch You From Afar, and on Sunday it’s the five-a-side tournament.
Something Serious tonight
Tomorrow: stuff, not fun stuff. Followed by fun stuff.
Sunday: I am going to see my Sister
Saturday: Putting on a couple of bets, washing clothes, going to a friends house for some darts.
Sunday: Going for a run, writing flash fiction, watching footy.
She's my assistant manager. It will end in tears but i gonna sex her up gud first.
Tomorrow - Going to maybe climb a munro or go for a big cycle, undecided as yet. Tomorrow night, sit in with wine, weed and dvds.
Sunday - Bloody marys and papers and generally take it easy.
probably gonna just complain about that most of the weekend
Something Serious tonight, then the weekend is a blank canvas. Might try to save some money and watch some television.
-reading Little Women for book club (GIRL)
-cutting down trees (LUMBERJACK)
-playing tony hawk's pro skater 2 (VINTAGE)
It has MILLENCOLLIN on the soundtrack FFS. MILLENCOLLIN!!!
NO IT'S MORE THAN I ACCEPT
BECAUSE I DON'T CARE WHERE I BELONG NO MORE
WHAT WE SHARE OR NOT I WILL IGNORE.....

I <3 Millencolin.
Swingin' Utters were on the soundtrack as well with this little gem:
5. Swingin' Utters - Five Lessons Learned
4. RATM - Guerilla Radio
3. Powerman 5000 - When World's Collide
2. Bad Religion - You
1. Dub Pistols - Cyclone
World's World's World's World's World's
THAT'S THE END OF ALL TTTTTTTIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEE
Boyfriend is ILL so quiet night in tonight I think, hopefully a walk / carvery / rugby tomorrow, then a mate's coming over and we'll watch a film or go to the pub.
Sunday = MSc stuff, booooring.
I'm going bowling tonight, you all wish you were as cool as me. Then I'm going to that London tomorrow for a night out, maybe I'll see a DiSer?
I had an unprecedented day of good science yesterday so today will mostly be analysis, and by that I mean wasting time on DiS.
It's where we normally go. Tried out Shoreditch last time but we didn't have a gameplan and ended up just wandering around. My mate lives in Harringay so it will definitely be somewhere north. Any recommendations?
as I don't tend to go out in London at night very often (unless with other people who take me places). Have fun though!
but i hear it's gone now :'(
Bet you wish you were as cool as I was back then
Today - haircut, interviews at an agency and a chat with a guy about a possible vacancy, hanging about in Albert Square hoping to see Meryl Streep dressed as Thatcher then meeting some friends I've not seen for ages.
Tomorrow - 'stairs is home, meet him after he's been to the footie, possibly go to Underachievers...
Sunday - laze about, maybe see if he fancies going for a swim
Should be fun! :)
EVERYTHING SUCKS TODAY
Flat tyre on my car so I guess I'm walking
EVERYTHING SUCKS TODAY
Taxman came and took my money
Now all my other bills are gonna be late
My girlfriend's moving in this morning
I don't think anything is gonna be okay
EVERYTHING SUCKS TODAY
EVERYTHING SUCKS TODAY
EVERYTHING SUCKS TODAY
today - nothing, probably clean the flat up a bit and have some nice food, chill out with the girl
tomorrow day - screenprinting course and pick up a couple of bits and pieces in town
tomorrow evening - free, probably won't go out, chill out
sunday - do some freelance work and some drawing
END OF WEEKEND
Utd vs City tomorrow but the rest of my time will be spent lazing around, probably watch a few films etc.
Firstly, a mess up with work payment has left me £113 overdrawn. my account should be set up to never allow a transaction that pushes me into debit, and i've never been overdrawn since setting it up 6 years ago. Means I can't get any money out until 23rd of Jan. I have about £70 in change in my bedroom though so i can still eat/survive.
Secondly, the place i'm currently working at part-time did not get my application for a graduate scheme due to an internal system problem, and the position is now closed. even though this was a system problem its left me absolutely gutted, as i love working here and really wanted to start the grad scheme.
lots of eating, smoking, and sleeping alongside some serious cuddling and backrubs.
tomorrow - after a monster fry-up i may get a couple of tins of beer and go to the park with the guitar, thats if its not raining.
The massively unseasonable sunny weather this week here has led to me booking a hostel and a weekend away.
Tonight I'm working until 7.30 and am going to our usual restaurant (IE the only one here that's open after 8pm) for food a and drinks. Bets all off whether I'll orde anything other than the usual sausage with horseradish and onion. Then home for an early night (I'm aiming for before 10pm)
Tomorrow I'm getting up at 4am to catch a train to ?ód? (pronounced 'woodge') which is about 5 hours north of here by train. Don't know much about the place apart from that a) Roman Polanski once lived there, b) it's seen as the Polish film capital, and c) it has it's own Polish walk of fame on one street with stars in the pavement a la LA. Some Poles called the place Holly?ód? (IE 'Hollywoodge). Comedy. I'm taking a copy of 'The Black Book' by Orhan Pamuk to read, but if that's rubbish I've got a re-read of Independence Day by Richard Ford.
Never stayed in a hostel before. Or been on a 5 hour train journey, or been for a weekend away alone before. Has massive potential to go hideously wrong, but I've got the secretary at work to write out the instruction for the ticket booth at the train station so I only have to sheepishly hand over a post-it note at the counter rather than the (more humiliating, trust me) task of trying to navigate in my pisspoor Polish. Returning late on Sunday. Very excited.
the first letter is like a capital L with a line sticking out of the left hand side. he z has an accent not unlike the one above the ó. Check out the amazing town crest.
Tonight: Something Serious
Tomorrow: UK Marbles Championship
Sunday: Playing golf with my accountant
Spent all morning in court, which was great fun with the best and funniest judge I've ever had the privilege of watching. Unfortunately I then lost my parking ticket and had to spend £18 to get out :(
Are you coming round this weekend meowington? We can watch rugby and eat snacks and stuff.
I will text you in the morning when i'm up and about and we'll arrange something!
We are in the land of pugs. We had haggis and whisky last night! And champagne, lots of wine and port. I feel a wee bit hazy today.
Tonight we're heading into glasgow for dinner with my parents. hang on, a pug is crying to get onto my lap . i am now typing one-handed. with my left hand urgh. after dinner poss going to the subclub as friends are DJing.
Tomorrow- catching up with family/ little people. Tomorrow night is a piss up in my home town with my friends :D
Sunday- pottering around with dogs and getting flight back to London.
I am very excited. I may go for a shower now.
We may pass in the street as i will be hopping around from sloans to sleazys to chinaskis tonight, well thats certainly the plan as it stands.
but before that grand central/regano for drinks...
I love the regano.
That all sounds very pleasant :)
and she has a badge saying IT'S MEYE BIRFDEE, to go on her lyrcra birthday outfit :(
Aye well, you can take the girl out of Glasgow.....
OU! yu asre a PRICK.
Hello! We are still waiting to hear if it safe for us to get back in to the pub so will be remaining closed today. Will keep you updated :) 3:41 AM Feb 10th via web
We were thinking of going for a quick bucky, and so that Rob can laugh once more at the condom machine in the men's with the graffiti which says 'insert ginger baby here for refund'
I worry that we're visiting some kind of gnome village. Remember Peter Gnome? He was fucking weird.
whatever you're into.
tonight i am staying in to save money/myself for tomorrow, a couple of friends are trying to get me to join them in the pub for drinks but i must be strong since i was boozing last night and will be boozing tomorrow and need a night off.
SATURDAY - i am going to oxford for the blessing force gig thing which i am very excited about for two(three?) reasons - im seeing labyrinth ear for the first time which as some of you will know is emily and toms band and i love emily and tom so i am also excited about seeing those two and im also very exicted cos im staying with my friend hollie who i haven't seen for literally a YEAR which is crazy ridiculous.
SUNDAY - will be driven back from oxford by a hungover and grumpy boyfriend and then i except we will spend the day watching lots of stuff we have saved on the planer(oh god i love you sky atlantic)and hopefully eating some real tasty food.
i am really annoyed though because usually apart from friday most poeple aren't around in reading cos they've all gone somewhere cool to spend their weekend or are chilling and my awesome canadian friend and his lovely girlfriend are hosting a 'musical bonfire' tomorrow night and lots of fun people will be there and THE ONE TIME SOEMTHING GOOD HAPPENS IN READING ONA SATURDAY im not boody there ARGH GODAMN
Saturday is going to be mad. Playing the first half of Music Society's football match in the big derby against Welsh College (boo), then dash to get ready to grab my lift to Newport for a THREE SET GIG that runs on from 3-00 til 8-00. I'm going to have cheeks like a Bloodhound by the end. Still make a cool £20 from it.
There should be another football match on Sunday, which I'll hopefully be able to get through. Had strained knee ligaments lately, but it feels like it's cleared up.
I wish I had time to watch sport this weekend.
Went out to JAPANTHER last night and have a busy weekend next week, as well as holidays coming up, so I'm a broken man in financial terms.
Tonight, I'm going to make dinner and watch the Madagascar documentary from the other night, then hopefully either Forbidden Planet or Village of the Damned.
Other notable events for the weekend include getting my eyes tested - just in time for Valentine's Day. I also need to put myself through the sheer torture of SPORTS SHOPS in order to find new astro boots. As in for playing football on astroturf, rather than something rather more exciting and space age.
I also need to do some work, and I want to read books.
AND I took a couple of nice pictures of a dunnock on my way to work the other day, so I'm going to add that to my little 'nature' section of my flickr site (which I am going to link to because I am quite proud of it): http://bit.ly/gAyJtX
my and my lady were going to drive over to New Orleans but she's feeling really ill so I've put that on ice. tonight we might just laze about. we have a few movies to watch and the rest of series three of the tick of it. we are going to watch the rugby tomorrow through my shonky iplayer connection or go over to another expats house and watch it there, have some beers. then probably laze about on the balcony and pool if the weathers back to normal as it's beer literally freezing here. if you thought the uk was badly prepared for ice... this place is FUCKED.
Still bemoaning not being able to go to SXSW atm. lined up a few gigs which is excellent.
I really want to go to New Orleans. I hope your girlfriend feels better!
What does he eat in the New Orleans one?
I think the New Orleans one was the one with about 10 plates of Oysters or something.
I can't think where it is but the BEST one was this like old fashioned ice cream parlor which just looked amazing.
what a great, great show.
