good morning. how was your weekend?
was ok, went to a party, went to a flea market, played scrabble, tidied my room, applied for some internships Im not really qualified to do, read, watched films blah blah blah. Today I got up at a normal time (10am) so I feel reall shit.
good stuff: went to a comedy night on friday, which was unexpectedly funny; had fun making cakes with my daughter on sunday afternoon; daughter's friend's birthday party was not as bad as expected. bad stuff: some stuff with a couple of friends of mine got a bit heated last night - feeling a bit down today as a result. would rather not go into any further details on here!
why do I have to keep reminding you of this?
But I didn't think they did them *that* differently.
ehh I dunno.
I thought Van_Gok_Wan was in Manchester.
I had a great Friday evening, BFF visited, I cooked her risotto, then we went out and danced all evening to 90s hitz. I got a bit too drunk though. On Saturday I cooked her a fry up and we sat about, it was like old times when we shared a house. I cried inside a bit when she left. On Saturday evening I watched Catfish which was great, and then fell asleep to MOTD. Sunday was MSc work but also I had a fizzy pop disaster and cut my finger.
This week I have NOTHING planned, feels good.
Manged 12 hours of alcohol on Saturday, Sunday I didn't move that much and got cooked for. 8/10
mine was http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4277894#r5859267
i've been meaning to put an album together for about five years. Just never known the right musicians to do it.
I drank a red bull, you ever had a red bull, we could have a red bull, we could gun one together RRRRRRREEEEEEEDDDDDDD BULLLLLLLLLYYYYYUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLL
I'm good thanks, finished tracking guitars for 5/6 songs last night, went out saturday night nothing special but was ok, the week ahead will basically go (work, eat, drummer comes round to write record stuff * 5) I do have season 2 of californication to get me through though. I was dissapointed with how season 1 ended though.
Ish. On Saturday morning I ruined two eggs and then couldn't eat my next one of the two we cooked because I felt ill. I basically had a hangover without having drunk anything. I made a nice spicy soup and then we had dinner in Crystal Palace at a friend's.
I therefore had a hangover on Sunday but that's how it goes, I suppose. Ordered a washer dryer and a person to come in and tile the bathroom.
then went to my godparents with my parents on Saturday and drank too much and mocked their age. Sunday came home, my parents bought me a month's worth of shopping, watched Cardiff win, then ate at Cafe Rouge (quite nice). Felt sad when they left. Perked up with an IM chat with a girl on OkCupid which was a bit weird, but pretty cool.
Today is a bad day at work. And I have very little to look forward too.
I assume they're getting it on, and I'm moving on. She still texts/emails me being kind of flirty (I would have guessed, but perhaps I'm wrong), and I reply, but I think we are destined to be friends. Which is fine by me.
Don't worry, when they inevitably fall out and she come's crying to me as a rebound, I'm sure the saga will begin again. And I've got two message communications going on with girls on OkCupid, so there's infinite scope for more saga.
Having said that, I think I'm going to try to share less in the future, for the good of all involved.
Learnt on Saturday afternoon that watching people kick a ball as high as possible in gusty wind for 90 minutes really isn't very interesting
Learnt on Sunday morning that people who live in Chandlers Cross and Sarratt don't take kindly to being asked to drive slowly & put their hazzard lights on.
Learnt on Sunday afternoon that kids can be tiring.
On Friday I went to see the Room at the Prince Charles, which was great fun, Saturday was the excellent Labyrinth Ear, Stairs To Korea and Lynx Africa, and Sunday was Chinese new year, so we had a meal with my ladyfriend's family.
Work permitting, I'm off to see Conquering Animal Sound at the Slaughtered Lamb tonight. Yay!
Friday night I dragged myself to the pub even though I was half asleep at 7pm. Watched a bit of rugby and had a few drinks.
Saturday I got up really late so just went to Brentwood in search of an amazing dress I tried on in New Look that just wouldn't zip up over my boobs. Its also not on the website and pretty much sold out in every other shop so i'm pissed off. Saturday night I went out to Pizza Express with my friend. It was a good meal. I was stuffed.
Sunday - nuffink.
(Well, not really).
I do go to Chelmsford sometimes to do a bit of shopping. This is only when i'm really bored and thing a long journey to a shopping centre will kill sometime before its time to go to sleep again. They have a good paperchase there though so its not a totally wasted journey.
then go mooch around the shops like moody teenagers and glare at people outside McDonalds.
I'm free both days (going Something Serious on Friday night so may be a little worse for wear on Saturday but still up for that!)
I'll dig out my old Offspring hoody and everything.
I must have known I was due to look like a moody teenager.
My weekend was productive. Saturday > Sunday.
Woken up at 7am this morning by my flatmate's alarm, which is still going off. Was forced to listen to Mumford and Sons in the shower. This morning I was going to go to the bank and to run some other boring errands but it's raining so I will probably stay in and study.
Sorry, I've got nothing to report. Even my sandwich today was nothing to write home (let alone a discussion forum) about.
(this is the kind of conversation I can get behind today)
I normally try to make exciting (or at least tasty) sandwiches like chorizo, strong cheddar and roast peppers, but today's was so dull that it's almost embarrassing.
Would it make you feel better if I said that two of my favourite sandwiches are:
Ham and mustard
Cheese and pickle
buttered with houmous, laid with spicy salami and cucumber for crunch.
This is what I can achieve when my parents have stocked up my fridge.
sat - Mooched around town doing the galleries, music shops, book shops thing.
sun - Got Drowned In Oestrogen and did some knitting at a gig. Wore my pink hoodie for maximum femininity points.
mon - Snow.
It was a fundraiser gig for that (one of 100 events going on).
The hook is that they're encouraging people to contribute to the knitting of "100 million stitches to represent 100 million women missing from the world today due to gender discrimination." http://tinyurl.com/37bw26e
I didn't do the casting on, and the outcome of my efforts are looking a bit maverick. I seem to have magically added a bunch of stitches, so rather than a square, my effort will probably be a trapezium.
Sounds good though. At primary school, I was briefly in a lunchtime knitting group, which, as I've said before, may explain quite a lot about me.
I had a dream about 'wishpig' last night (presumably about all this feminism action). I've never met her.
I was lost somewhere and 'she' was living on a farm and had a map/atlas and tried to get a computer to work so we could find out the answers from the internet. But it wasn't working. But everything was ok in the end.
OI! DiS! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
I asked them out via PM and they ignored me asking them out and just talking about some random garbage....then I was awake for most of the night cause I convinced myself that I had actually done it in real life. I woke up and checked, realized I hadn't and then were was a massive sigh of relief as I quite fancy the person in question.
the dream/IRL confusion panic is always a bit unsettling.
My boss just said 'you look different'
This is one of the reasons I dislike my haircut.
Unless they cut off about a milimetre, you probably DO look differet.
Whats it like?
I didn't cry. I might now, though.
Your hair was practically bum length though, so ten inches will still leave it long, yes? Below shoulders anyway? Yes? I bet it's lovely.
totally smashed it.
a chicken (on the bone) tomaota curry
a lamb korma
a tomota and onion dal
a pea and mushroom curry
a okra and onion dish
cucumber and mint raita type thing
chutneys and pickles
as is tomota.
Says the man who greeted Sam Cam with his cock out.
helped dad cut down more tree branches, cleared loads of rubbish out of the house/my room, bought a new tent and sleeping bag in the GO! sale. Played Red Dead and watched The Royle Family.
I had an alright weekend, didnt really do anything or go anywhere, slept, ate and learnt a new tune on guitar - which im chuffed about - Ocean - John Butler Trio.. ive nearly got it :D
feel awful, blurred vision, pounding jeadache, throad etc. migfht need to relax my TV rules today so I can just sit on the sofa and only open my eyes when someone screams
weekend OK, saw King's Sepeech last night wasn't disappointed. Plus we sprted and organised the play room with new Ikea storage soluiton and garage...very sunday thing to do but looks much more tiptop now
Lazy Saturday and Sunday, a few beers last night but nothing major (and sadly no Superbowl piss-up) because of work commitments today. PAH. However, I was able to get stuck into my amazing new digital piano and have lots of fun with that :)
I go back to Scotland for a visit on Thursday night and am actually counting down the hours :D :D :D
I bought a digital piano for my 30th and started trying to teach myself but didn't get too far :(
Not played seriously since I was 17, BUT after about an hour of tinkling away last night it was coming back to me properl;y. I am an ace sightreader and was sight radingh my grade 5/6 pieces. I have lost any ability to play by ear COMPLETELY though.
Maybe if mini CCB wants to learn when she's a bit older, that would give you an incentive to get into it?
i'm almost certain that the little'un will turn out musical. she loves it when i play guitar (like, dances around like a mad thing!) and i sometimes catch her singing five little monkeys (or whatever song we've been singing with her). obvs not in perfect pitch but it's very cute to watch.
It is amazing how much comes back to you, but I still can't believe how much seems to be lost in the abyss of my mind. I reckon I'd struggle to pass a grade 3 exam now, plus some of my theory is shockingly rusty, despite having other musical knowledge (I know, i know, tambourine doesn't count :D). I'm going to browse for som,e books to get me back on track today. EXCITING! :D
Little girls singing = cutest thing ever <3
She's not even 2 and can't say that much but we catch doing Row, Row, Row Your Boat when she's sat playing.
Looking to get myself one soon.. so much fun to be had
Friday- Went to take photos of a power station with a friend, ended up in this abandoned house that had a real silent hill vibe. we had a bottle of rum between us.
After that went out for drinks and pizza, which i regretted the morning after.
Saturday-watched football whilst doing uni work for most of the day. after that i went to see Esben and The Witch, who were good, but i was still hungover.
Shame about the result on Friday night and being unable to get a sit down curry when we got back, cheese toastie had to do.
Curry issue resolved on Saturday night. Under 8's rugby on Sunday with my nipper running in one fantastic try after passing the ball out left and looping around his team mate to receive it back, one more bagged before we went to Rodney Parade to see the Dragons progress to the LV Cup Semi final. Today is the youngests 5th birthday so it's crisps and jelly for tea...woop woop.
Can't wait until the little'uns birthday!
I love my new flat, and I never want to leave it. I went to a big houseparty in Withington on saturday. It was 'off the hook'. I stood with a couple of friends and we discussed how old we feel. Then some girl started shouting 'omlette advert' at me loads, before falling over, apparently some guy on tv looks a bit like me.
WE GET THE INTERNET AT THE FLAT ON WEDNESDAY!!! THEN I WILL NEVER LEAVE IT. EVER.
Ah well, my moment in the lookalike spotlight is over.
I don't think it looks anything like you
went to see chelsea liverpool yesterday, which wasnt great in the end. Enjoyed seeing a zealous 5 ft chinese liverpool supporter get mullered by a 70ish chelsea east end thug who looked the spit of alan ford. then I watched the superbowl with the lady and her friends. made loads of witty remarks about how the referees looked like footlocker guys/bought some rubicon.
got up at 8 today and am at the library reading Locke, which is mostly all bullshit.
largely uneventful weekend but I managed to see Black Swan which I thought did a great job of living up to the hype.
Also for all those who were watching UFC 126 saturday night -> http://tinyurl.com/65xartr
*Lift-share with a really tedious music teacher and then set up a mock exam for Year 12*
^an early draft of the Bel and Seb classic, and one that expresses today pretty well for me.
Wow. And I mean that.
Saturday moved out of my room and went to the Museum of Everything and ate the best brownies ever.
Sunday had brunch at Breakfast Club and got stuck in Chinatown and played Scrabble on the tube.
I want to go to meateasy
I love the Museum of Everything
I love brownies
I love Scrabble
Do you know when you eat something so tasty that you can't stop fantasising about eating it again and you can almost taste it in your mouth? I'm getting that now with the chili cheese burger.
Chili cheese burger sounds great. Please can we not start talking about burgers. I've got a boring Tesco sandwich for lunch and talking about big meaty burgers makes me want to cry because I want one RIGHT NOW.
Stayed in on Friday, wrote some stuff on Saturday then had risotto and an early night. Yesterday I watched lots of Great British Railway Journeys then was treated to a trip to see Black Swan in the afternoon.
I was meant to meet up with some friend's who I love and miss but I didn't have enough money for a bus.
Have to find my rent money today, it's looking incredibly unlikely that I will. My mum has sold my gold rings that I'd kept from being a wee nipper to try and help me, so a third of the way there now!
you claiming full housing benefit / local housing allowance, right?
I'm going to try again today
I get £220 a month which is all they'll give me, had a letter saying it's going down. My rent plus bills is £350. It's a week overdue already and my landlord tried to get me evicted last time I was unemployed and only paid him the rent and not the bills for a couple of months. He, however, didn't mind my other housemate paying him just the bills and owing him the rent! So since I found that out I hate living there and never leave my room, it's been like that for a year now! I want a job just so I can move to another houseshare!
This is pretty heartbreaking stuff to read. :(
I'll bring only cheer from now on.
For example, Jeremy Vine just said "jumped the shark". That made me laugh :)
A filling and have to go back on Friday.
Weekend was good. Apart from the fact that I have a lot less hair having torn it out at Ireland's inepitude.
First cricket nets of the season yesterday. My shoulder is a big fan of me at the moment
I spent saturday skiing. And sunday walking around Grenoble with my girlfriend's formidable and extremely french grandmother. (smug)
I got back on Sunday evening just in time to fall into a cycle of sleeping and waking up whilst trying to watch the Pack win the Superbowl. It was a pretty good game, but it definitely needed more trick plays.
Now I have an extra day off to nurse my bruises and maybe buy some furniture before I have to go back to work tomorrow. I hate work.
hung out with a friend, got PRETTY DRUNK etc. Wolf Ale is great, its beer... WITH BITE. also ate a lotta sushi. seem to be suffering from some sort of post-hangover blues a wee bit now though, or something like that. i'm going to smoke it out.
Pub after work on Friday, and then did nothing on Saturday (was planning to go out but then started feeling ill about 5pm).
This week I need to start finding somewhere new and exciting to live, update my CV, and also try not to drink until Something Serious. Friday = could get messy.
