One report saying he's fractured both legs and his hip.
Both are really bad news :-(
But when I first saw "seriously injured" I felt like throwing up, was thinking 'critical condition'/ There's been too much tragedy in motorsport recently :-(
If it means the end of his career then it's obviously still really devastating - but drivers have come back from broken legs (and worse) before. Will keep updating the news and forums a lot.
their drivers doing things like rallying, as with Ferrari and Kimi.
Also makes you appreciate the safety of F1 - no major injuries after the Canada crash, but this...
I've always found that a bit odd.
use of one of his hands.
Again, totally speculative at this stage, but that would be more career-ending than numerous leg breaks.
I was being productive today, too :-(
and hand injuries were made up, then that's at least better news. Still might be career-ending, but those kind of injuries -can- be recovered from.
Doesn't sound promising...
Still would be completely devastating if he couldn't race again. Have read a couple of reports which say possible amputation of hand but, even if it's not that bad, and his hand is pretty badly smashed you'd have to seriously question whether he could do anything close to driving professionally again.
Really long surgery.
you may remember that my posts in F1 discussions generally consisted of 'i love kubica'
though i've been trying to cobble together a 'cost him an arm and a leg joke' for a couple of hours and i feel bad for it.
Massa's seat is a bit safer for 2012
i shall keep searching...
could take up to 12 months of rehabilitation to get use of his hand back... :'''''''''(
