Anyone seen this yet?
Went on Saturday and it left me a bit shaken, the violence is incredibly brutal.
where the Queen is raped by her alcoholic father...
there was only one way out.
(with apologies to Jimmy Carr)
hopefully it's not all blood and glory on the streets though.
It's going to be hard to beat the brilliance of snatch and lock stock to be honest where they mix an actual story with good actors, music etc rather than the green street esque bullyang that's been rolling out.
I'll find any comparison to Lock Stock or Snatch more than a little insulting.
Comparisons to Kidulthood may or may not be rather more interesting.
otherwise, ahm oot.
Everyone knows the late 90s was the best time for neds anyway.
Will defo have to go and see it. It does look very full-on, to say the least.
...and The Magdalene Sisters was very good, so that bodes well.
The acting was very good and the scenes featuring the 'neds' bantering had a great energy but apart from the obvious reaction to the violence, it didn't stir much in me. The clumsy surrealism and symbolism was a mistake too.
I can see dickheads hitting each other and swearing in strong accents any time. I'm sure it'll do well with people who live in the west end of Glasgow but think it's 'hilarious' to drink Buckfast.
