just tried to rebuild a thread - it doesn't let me.
that file wasn't found
yeah, just need to get all the images back up
Plus the new site has given me a virus
never gets old, does it? DOES IT?
*in da klub*
i got the same message when i started this thread, but the thread still posted.
what thread have you needed to rebuild already?
(Fair play for even bothering to comment on minor social board issues at this point - you must have hunners of more important checks to do?)
as it won't let me ^this this
well for me anyway, I just get one of those "An error has occured. We've been notified of the problem, and hope to have it fixed shortly." placeholders
nice of sean to get the social board working first, though!
yeah, we're working on the music forum. didn't check this when testing the site.
It's spazzing out - I've mistakenly clicked on it and opened the iTunes page 3 times already.
sorry, i had no idea this was a popover campaign. you should only see it once.
oh no, it's mouseover bullshit.
have contacted our ad company to either remove or amend the over zealous advert
it's advertising this intrusive. Good work Sean.
Annoyingly we don't get to see the ads before they got up most of the time. I don't know why the major labels like these sorts of ads.
Should encourage more bands i'm 'meh' about to do these sorts of ads.
That's much better :)
If you log in from the home page you are redirected to "www.drownedinsound.com/.com", a page that doesn't exist.
Logging in itself however does work.
to fix a thread, you
- "click here to rebuild" (see bottom of thread), then
- post in the thread
when I clicked on "click here to rebuild" it brought up an error.
i thought they were only breaking when people click ^this and reply, without leaving the thread.
or when we've mass deleted troll posts and it hasn't also removed the replies.
but towards the end of last year i was fixing maybe three or four times a day (and so were a number of others). certainly you'd struggle to find a thread with 30+ replies, none of which consisted of "threadsmash" or "rebuild".
tbh there's probably more important issues to fix. there's a regular bunch of us to who the rebuilding.
as i've hopefully mentioned. i've not had the funds to do the full site refix. next day i have with a developer is 1st feb, although he kindly spend his saturday night trying to get the site back online.
i really want to get to the bottom of this and the thread vanishing if people reply within 2mins bizniz all fixed, asap.
you can normally fix it by clicking on the url and pressing enter to reload the page (rather than just F5-ing), then click on the 'Click here to rebuild' link at the bottom of the page, then post a reply to the thread (usually saying THREADSMASH, or comedy variant, or just 'fix.' or whatever).
But the rebuild link doesn't seem to be back up and running just yet.
the site goes down for 24hrs and suddenly everyone's being nice at explaining DiSisms and everything.
i think i might turn the site off for 24hrs more often! *safety wink*
I can't read it.
The everything everything ad is going to make me kill something.
it's a weird thing.
the site is adding rogue /.com to the urls of things. just remove that and you can read all your note-y goodness.
it's the same thing affecting rebuild and site log-in.
Sadly it was the tail end of a conversation I was having last week with someone. Not the filth I was hoping for.
It's saying things posted on the 15th are yesterday.
what was your username? i probably thought you were the troll if it was anything like his username and i didn't recognise your username. was being a bit over-zealous, as, like, it was probably friday night and i was trying to get away from computer at 9 o'clock at night.
odd, that wasn't me. i banned someone called TheBannedOne is the last i remember doing.
still doesnt play "in the club" etc
you mean you couldn't get on the site yesterday? you missed some classic scenes, etc
it did post, but i was redirected to a 'file not found' page rather than the social board
it's something to do with the re-directs adding /.com when they don't need to.
isn't working,'page not found'
just changing the numbers in the top bar on a recent thread
found it, bumped it (someone replied too quick and made it vanish) http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4276489
mobile DiS is still giving the 403 forbidden message
yeah that needs some serious TLC. an update to Ruby (the software that powers the database) broke that about a year ago and i haven't had the funds for more than a few days of developer time since.
apparently that were causing a bug
For the board but it just redirects to the standard version of the site now, can we have it back?
at some point. it needs to be rebuilt.
it only chooses a selection of what I typed. I don't know if anyone else is getting this.
When its happened its been when I've put a few quotation marks so "lets just see what happens"
That'll be what happened on the OP of the Mash v Mail thread. It was supposed to have a few quotes in it but loads of text got lost in the ether.
hrm, this is very very weird.... but bound to happen when we set-up a new server from scratch in such a short space of time
you know, the one where you view threads you've posted in and all that.
that hasn't worked for about 6months or more, to my knowledge.
up until today
hrm, perhaps it doesn't work over a certain post count or age of posting or something. will investigate whenever i have some developer time. all the time at the moment is going into slightly more pressing things, sadly.
i realise this might appear more important but according to stats a very small amount of people use this feature vs we're not currently able to set content live.
I just presumed it worked for everyone before, but apparently I was special.
are you royalty?
i just call it parker
