The other one is too big now.
I have only this to say:
everyone wants to buy Steve Sidwell for some reason
everyone else wants to leave Liverpool
You odious cunt. Both Leeds and Arsenal to play massively weakened teams Saturday apparently
Having said that my over riding memory of him was seeing him play for Norwich and the one shot he had went out for a throw in.
....and maybe will stay that way for the rest of th year
Not Akinbiyi signing for Newport County, which is great news but not something that i will remember for very long
At least that doesn't have the audacity to disrupt my Premier League football.
Premiership football slows to a crawl for FA Cup AND an international break
People get too worked up aboout them, they're just badly placed sometimes is all
They should have another look at that.
small teams playing their tits off for a draw away from home, so that they can up their gate receipts
Good suggestions in The Guardian today. The Champions League place is still the obvious answer to solving the competition's problems, but I suspect they'd never have the bollocks to do that.
Also, Sepp Blatter has more or less confirmed that the Qatar World Cup will be in winter. What a prize bell that guy is.
Graham Westley's got absolutely no right to be talking about funds generated for non-league clubs after the way he fucked over Farnborough following their trip to Highbury.
Stevenage v Newcastle II - this is what football's all about. Hopefully we won't get shafted like last time when cheaty shearer's 'goal' robbed us of our place in footballing folklore.
but he's certainly not even close to being a gent. It's people like him that make me hate so much of football.
I've never met him. I did meet paul fairclough though, and he was a gent.
Always seems to have carried himself well in whatever role he's been working in. A little surprised he's not had a more successful career.
mark my words. I like Fairclough as well, was the only redeeming feature about Stevenage during Victor Green's era.
Champions League spot for the winners, League Cup scrapped altogether. Bish bash bosh.
If the big clubs don't like it, fuck them. Try to actually win something for a change then. The whole race for fourth thing is so utterly pathetic
imagine how good the final would be if it was, say, 4th arsenal vs 5th placed chelsea.* Or if someone like sunderland caused an upset by beating man u.
*i was going to use City here but that seemed counter productive to my point.
if the cup winner finishes in the top 3, then the cup finalist loser has a play off against the 4th placed team.
then gets really shit and boring.
Ever since they let glenn hoddle's brother go it's been downhill for them.
this one will be a massive 6 pointer.
so they've decided to make it a double-header.
seemed to be so many baffling selection decisions this season (this is mainly based on conversations with my mum) and letting Pablo Counago go out on loan is unforgivable.
have been daubing anti-Hodgson graffiti outside Liverpool's training ground/bog/skip. Phil McNulty from the BBC and various other journos continue to bay for his blood every ten minutes. Still no new Premiership sackings despite the ranting and raving.
I never realized he was so articulate. He pointed out how ironic it was that a city so militant and associated with the trade unions as Liverpool would be putting so much energy into getting a man the sack. That stumped John Aldridge, whose only reponse to anything was "we ARE a MASSIVE club."
For every ten sane Liverpool fans, it only takes one idiot to get through the switchboard at a national radio station to make the support in general look a bit silly.
Hodgson has to be given til the end of the season really. This season was always going to be a mess for them, and its proved no different. If results pick up / players improve keep him on, if its the same poor performances, he can't moan when he goes. If they get Dalglish in as caretaker, they'll be dragged into a relegation battle.
It's always great when those stupid fan fantasies come true and explode in their face
See also: Shearer at Newcastle.
Yeah a man who hasn't managed in like what, almost a decade if not more, and who has quit jobs because he hasn't been able to handle the strain to take over a club in a bit of a mess who's fans demand instant success and think he's the messiah.
Destined to end well
I can't really recall...
Didn't win in his first 8 matches, then went 7 unbeaten, finished the season in 12th before resigning the following September.
They basically seem to be blaming Hodgson for Torres and Reina wanting to leave. Poor babies want to play under a "high-profile manager" apparently. Passion for the shirt.
I was expecting all the other Spain internationals to harp on about how their countrymen must be allowed to return to the bosom of their motherland during this transfer window. End this inhumane slavery and let them come home so we can all hug and kiss! But it seems they don't actually care and are possibly laughing their arses off.
Everyone gets stick. Glen Johnson was crying his eyes out on Twitter after the Rovers game because of criticism from reds who "know nothing about football".
Everyone's disgusted with Torres' attitude and the way Gerrard et al are playing, and we give them shit on the games for it.
The reason we don't like the way he treats our foreigners is that we know that it's the wrong way to make them play better. Rafa never publicly criticised Nando's form. He said "He will improve" and he did improve. Nor did Rafa ever warn us that we would "struggle to keep hold of Torres" or roll over when Fergie had a do.
For me it comes down to the fact I've seen the majority of that squad go on rampages in the past and repeatedly outclass people. I know what they're capable of and want someone to bring that out of them again. I can't say the same for Hodgson. He counter-attacked his way to that final. He bus-parked his way to midtable last season.
Now they've generally toned things down it just makes Liverpool's idiot fans look even worse.
Because they're all he seems to fucking write about
Kuszczak staying until the end of the season apparently. Amos to go out on loan, presumably never to be seen again.
I would rather have De Laet at LB than Konchesky
it's just not cricket.
"John Utaka Investments, Bermuda"
great photo dressed as robin hood.
Target Man :D So specific
But I love him for it.
Hosted by Mr Hodgson.
Are they letting him stay on? Surely not?
I was talking to someone about when Jack Walker sacked him from Rovers during a press conference he was doing, and how he apparently left Ewood in tears and it made me feel really sad. He's such a nice, sensitive man that it makes it so hard to want to see the back of him. We all know he genuinely wants to do well for us and is trying his best, but it's not working.
If we keep him on for United and Everton, we've got to give him til the end of the season. It's not fair on him, or us, to keep him in for two of our biggest games of the season.
I acutally expect you to give a decent account of yourselves in both those games. Then lose against some more shit teams.
i fancy Liverpool to beat us, but i'm sure a lot of liverpool fans would prefer to lose if it got Hodgson the boot. we saw with the chelsea game last season that they're not against that.
and I can assure you that even if it meant he stayed longer there is absolutely no way I would EVER want to loose to your lot, I am sure most liverpool fans would feel the same. I actually fanyc us to beat you as well
A win at Old Trafford might buy him a few days, but as soon as LFC find a replacement he'll be off.
It's not fair on him, or us, to keep him in for two of our biggest games of the season - then sack him when we inevitably get raped on.
no idea what hes even doing with my address
So maybe he's noted your prominent internet presence and is going on a PR offensive to get the blogs onside for his campaign to get selected for Euro 2012.
In vaguely related news I was watching a stream of a game recently on American broadcaster Fox Soccer TV or something, and in the half time break they had a little film about "QPR and England legend David Bardsley". He played twice for England in 1992, assumedly when Lee Dixon, Paul Parker and Gary Stevens were all injured. The way they portrayed him as some kind of godlike Premier League figure in the report was awesome.
and they mentioned that 'David Bardsley' had scored for Sunderland.
They must fucking love him over there.
He's getting everywhere these days. Must have a great publicist.
on a tour of the Far East. We played Malaysia I seem to remember. David White and Brian Deane both played around the same time.
fact. You're right though he was brought in under Taylor, played really well, got dropped and Dixon brought back in. The following game had the England supporters chanting 'if Dixon plays for England so do I' for 90 minutes he was so bad. Beginning of the end for me.
not by hodgson i don't think
wondering why it hadn't.
Who else would have cancelled it? He's going to give "an exclusive interview" to LFC.tv instead because they ask questions they're supposed to.
'cos they're going to sack him later today(seems unlikely)
or a joint decision where everyone decided it probably wasn't a good idea to get another media pasting just before a man u game
and I guess because the only questions he would have got would have been about his job and nothing about the game. So his only interview will be on the website where they won't ask him about it. Just one more sign of the inevitable axe that is coming. To echoe your comments above he does seem like a nice old man, I am sure he is a great grandad but he has proved that he is just not up to this job. I just wonder who they can get, will be interesting to see
Nothing could detract from my excitement of seeing us at OT for the first time but if the dickhead element of our fans start with the 'Dalglish' chants it'll be the worst thing ever. It was bad enough at Ewood but imagine the delight of the cockneys at having 9,000 scousers turning on their own on their doorstep.
On one hand I'm disappointed in FSG for drawing it out instead of just sorting it sooner, but on the other I admire them for avoiding the reputation of knee-jerk foreign boards who know nothing about English football. Bleh.
there will be the anti-Hodgson chants unless we win, which I really think we will. In a side note there is nothing better then seeing us beat United at OT, I've been 4 or 5 times and the best was when Danny Murphy scored the penalty right in front of us. Is a little hairy getting in and out but you'll have a great day. I'll be getting up at very early to watch on the tv live and inevitably annoying my neighbours with lots of shouting
17 but i must have spelled 2 wrong
Only missed one particularly obvious one. I love sporcle!
And missed Steed Malbranque! Doh.
I defy anyone to find me a better homepage for a footballer
That is fantastic. The window breaking :""D
Woop. Haven't been to a match in aaaaaaages, let alone in a box.
Corporate box, I mean. Not cardboard. Though I imagine that's what you were getting at. Sorry for leading you on there.
fucking hell, Hodgson might be having a mare at Liverpool but I really can't understand this kind of vitriol.
I watched his interview after the Wolves match and although he looked on the verge of a nervous breakdown, he was still able to eloquently express how distressed he is- how he felt his work at Fulham had been rewarded with such a prestigious position, and how badly he felt he was failing everybody by not living up to it. I couldn't give a stuff about Liverpool F.C. but I really feel he should quit, for the sake of the health of a sound bloke.
you can't blame him for taking that job on, but with all the upheaval over the club's ownership and Benitez's cult-like grip on the fans he was always on a hiding to nothing going to Liverpool. Watching him frantically rubbing his face on the touchline at Newcastle was just plain worrying to be honest. He should really just walk away from management altogether and enjoy his retirement.
"Rafa Benitez - a humble, loyal, warm, intelligent man. Sacked. Driven out of his home - by a pack of absolute window licking rabid mongoloids. Think about that. It hurts to think about, but do it anyway. It's the truth.
96 supporters - loyal, passionate, innocent, Scouse, young, old. They're dead. Died for no good reason. No purpose. No fault of theirs or ours. Dead all the same. Think about that. It hurts to think about, but do it anyway. It's the truth.
Roy Hodgson - a flid, a disgusting human being, an imbecile, a cancer, a travesty to this club. He's Liverpool manager. Think about that. It hurts to think about, but do it anyway. It's the truth. He has effectively come in to Rafa's house - he's spat on Montse and slapped the children - yet he's LIVERPOOL MANAGER. Think about that. It hurts to think about, but do it anyway. It's the truth.
It has come to the point where I couldn't supress a smile if I turned on Sky Sports News and the headline was 'Roy Hodgson - dead'. Think about that. It hurts to think about, but do it anyway. It's the truth."
RAWK have already dreamt up some conspiracy theory.
is why many people reading that wouldn't be surprised.
(Wouldn't be surprised that it'd appeared on a Liverpool forum, that is)
my dad and his mates are making us leave Leeds at 5am so we can be in London eating breakfast and drinking by 9ish.
at least i'll have enough time to numb my body before the match. if we can keep it to 3 goals, i'd be ecstatic. should be a good day out anyway
