From Vanity Fair: http://bit.ly/eoxSCA
Shall read it in a bit.
Vanity Fair still produces some great stuff.
the tensions between critical but professional and reasoned organisations like the Guardian and principled but unsophisticated organisations like wikileaks. Cheers Marckee.
Pretty good read so far.
Done. After dipping in and out of it due to work.
Fascinating is indeed the word.
It's really well written piece. Well paced and easy to read, but with plenty of juicy detail. I've never really paid any attention to Vanity Fair, but I'll have a poke around through their stuff now on the basis of that.
Of particular interest to aspiring writers/journos I'd have thought.
Wonder how the next set of bank allegations about banking will pan out?
packed with terrific writers.
It's like 1/3rd incredible articles
1/3 "OMG she wore that to the HAMPTONS" rich people's lives
One issue had Anna Friel with her knockers out wearing diamond necklaces. Pure WTF
Vanity always seems to throw up surprisingly detailed articles, I need to remember this.
Although at one point I'm sure the author said that Manchester was in the Midlands.
An excellent article exploring the tensions between critical but professional and reasoned organisations like the Guardian and principled but unsophisticated organisations like wikileaks.
basically accusing wikileaks of condeming morgan tsvangirai to death and then days latter realising 'oops' and adding the minor detail "This article was amended on 11 January 2011 to clarify the fact that the 2009 cable referred to in this article was placed in the public domain by the Guardian, and not as originally implied by WikiLeaks. The photo caption was also amended to reflect this fact"
