where is good to get a sandwich?
any good venues for after work gigs?
I've lived here for a year. I have not been to a single gig.
Apparently Barhouse puts some on, but they're all student bands, no decent touring acts. Some of the club nights they do are meant to be good, but I'm not a big clubber, so couldn't guarantee it (the one time I did go, it was almost completely empty - this was a Friday night in the run-up to Christmas).
Really, the place is a cultural wasteland - I even tried going to the theatre and film clubs, but was the youngest person there by about thirty years.
Your only consolation is that Liverpool St is just over 30 minutes away on a good day. Aside from that, it's pretty pap.
For a decent sandwich, there are a couple of alright-but-in-no-way special sandwich bars on Moulsham Street.
Oh, and the Woolpack is a really good pub. The Queen's Head is also good.
That's really all I got.
... tho as said above wouldn't want to live there. As mentioned above Moulsham street has various places.
