Best new homegrown BBC comedy since "Gimme Gimme Gimme". DiScuss...
I must have seen a different show
we watched it together once and I didn't find it that funny, mainly because it's aimed at women.
We decided that it's like woman's version of peep show as it says all the things you are thinking and does all the things you want to try to avoid.
oh and catherine tate is not funny
not seen this miranda program so can't comment on that
Her back looks like a cutting board for safari animals.
that suprised me a bit
Just googled her, she's actually larger than I thought she was. I really wouldn't want to be in her way when she's at full sprint.
do you just change yr handle every time you get caught out saying something properly mental like this?
are there no sacred cows?
then yeah, probably.
was a load of tripe.
League of Gentleman was the best BBC of the last decade. I haven't seen Miranda yet though..
I've ended up watching quite a lot, and have found myself incapable of forming an opinion. It'd kind of so pointedly lacking in any edge that it's got a tiny bit of edge. Like, if My Family acknowledged it was shit, it would be a bit less shit... something like that.
I don't mind it, but find myself wondering if I'm turning into my Dad for not hating it. It's a totally old school, live slapstick sitcom that could be on telly at 5 or 10pm. It's silly, gentle and obviously aimed more at women. But I really don't mind it.
Like most comedies, the first episode made me feel ill. Now I quite admire how openly naff and self efacing it is. Beats another 'shock tactic' fly on the wall one or lame ass panel show.
Or in the words of Miranda's mother; 'Such fun!'. Borders on true comedic delight, but has the women of a certain age SCREAMING like banshees. I rate it as much as George Cole in Dad and Sunnyside Farm with Mark Addy and Phil Daniels
then I watched it and i found it really funny.
^thats my story
But any other parts that aren't Miranda are fucking rubbish. She will have her own great sitcom one day if she can get a decent script.
sorry peeps, I meant 'worst' since 'gimme gimme gimme'. and that's even including 'my family' and the superhero thing.
Sorry guys, I feel like I've mistakenly represented a silent few who needed a voice.
I've come out of this looking crueler than I ever intended to be :'(
I only wanted to come back and read a list of comparisons to what she looks like (balding etc.) and I didn't expect/mean to upset fans of it like yourself.
Maybe one of my new hobbies could be giving 'Miranda' more of a chance?
