NOW WITH PHOTOS.
Tbh, not really sure I can be bothered with popcorn anymore. I like it and all, but the enjoyment time to subsequent teeth brushing time really doesn't pay off...
I asked for containers. Very... useful. And nice looking as far as those kind of things go, I suppose.
I think I'll update with a photo for every 5 presents? Otherwise it'll take forever.
Don't really know that there's all that much t say about this...
Not the kind I wanted. I just wanted cheap and fairly big fabricy ones for use whilst working. Nothing fancy. Sigh...
A book, most likely. It is. 'Lost Japan' by Alex Kerr. Looks like it's been in the snow. Not entirely sure there was much point of putting it in my stocking if I have to send it back, but I guess it's a case of not making it look pathetically empty. Book might be interesting though.
bit boring in the places where I had no interest in the subject (kabuki etc) but the bit about him buying a traditional rural japanese house and restoring it was really interesting
Also, my mother appears to be awake and online. Maybe she's reading?
I very definitely asked for THICK VERY THICK VERY VERY VERY THICK TIGHTS ONLY.
Oh. Socks. I mean, I asked for them too. Just I'd kind of like some tights right now.
didn't you ask for a certain type of tights last year and your mum got you the wrong ones? you've obvs got bad communication, only your self to blame!
ps - its wierd I remember this ain't it? its definitely wierd.
A lot. Seems suspiciously jigsaw-like. Pretty sure nobody would be so odd as to get me a jigsaw though. Right...?
Cereal? Wtf? That's not even a present! I feel cheated. Well, still more use than a jigsaw, but...
What cereal is it?
Has the same issue as popcorn with teeth. But I like it :-)
Wouldn't eat that- scares the shit out of me.
Yay! So long as it's from my list. It was a very long list...
It is :-)
In the Loop. About time I watched this.
But I did that stupid thing again of listing the next volume in every series I own so I'd get a surprised. Didn't entirely pay off last year. But who knows?
Hana-Kimi volume 17. Excellent. I love this series. And I'm getting near the end now!
Two great presents in a row. Better open something that looks boring next.
Sweet. Just in case you cared.
Oooh, and photo time!
Meanwhile, my cat is bringing down the Christmas tree. Great.
Everyone cross fingers etc.
Well, that's my Christmas ruined. I have absolutely nothing with which I'd wear grey tights. And they never look nice.
your mum probably read that and thought GREAT! SHE LIKES GREY TIGHTS. I'LL BUY MORE.
Well, I never wore that [air after trying them on, so maybe that was the start of my dislike of grey tights? That, or I'm just terribly inconsistent.
You didnt like the 2008 cardigan! And then you were wearing it in 2009!
God I've definitely read far too many of you're past stocking threads in the last 2 days.
also isn't £8 quite reasonable for thick tights?
Definitely going back...
In other news, my cat is now totally stuck behind the Christmas tree.
Fullmetal Alchemist volume 6. I stopped collecting this because the series is so damn long, but now it's finished I'll probably start again.
Quick flick through suggests not much Roy Mustang in this one. But yay for manga and FMA and Roy anyhow :-)
that this is a handkerchief. With hearts on. In a Japanese-ish looking case. The hearts are raised, which makes the handkerchief not so practical, and I don't see what I could use the wallet thing for. But y'know it's cute and all.
But it may not be a handkerchief at all. In which case, I'll get back to you later on how good it is.
Goes with my notebooks and folders, which is cute, but I really wanted a much smaller one. But it's fine. Nice, even. See? I'm being positive.
Just noticed there's no clementine / satsuma / tangerine thing. Kind of upsetting, really.
Don't look especially good, tbh. Won't be usable for Japanese or lecture notes. I guess essay plans or something? Coloured pens are good for that. They look okay actually. We'll see how they write...
It says it's supposed to go on my bag. Not sure it'd look very good there, cause my bag is kind of black and patterned. It's deifnitely cute, though.
Princess Mononoke :-)
I had this but lost it a long time ago. Very nice to have it back again.
One present to go! And it looks like manga...
love this film so much
Reborn! volume 7. Happy happy happy :-D
Dino is on the cover. I might sit here for a while and swoon. Still, he's no Hibari. I wonder if Hibari is in this volume?
He's there! Only in two pages, but he's being very, very, awesome there, so I'm still happy!
Final photo update coming up in a second or two...
Read a manga? Eat some popcorn and watch In The Loop? Use coloured pens to draw on the cat? You have new stuff- the possibilities are endless!
and trying to work out what the presents under the tree are :-)
I'm going to buy you a tooth pick because of the amount of popcorn you seem to get.
A pink knife and spatula!
A decorative big bowl thing
Dexter season 3
Manga Kamishibai: The Art of Japanese Paper Theater (interesting looking book, and no, not that kind of manga)
Got a few to go. One or two look quite promising :-)
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood part 1
£7 book tokens
Chocolate orange with popping candy!
(this is my first time experiencing the pocketmouse stocking thread and quite frankly, I love it)
Collection of Gabriel Garcia Marquez books. Have a few of them, but probably not worth exchanging.
3 kanji practice books
Baccano! complete collection DVD
The last I'm super happy about. Except I wanna watch it now and can't cause it's "too violent". The violence is all pretty good natured, so I object to that.
Anyhow, the end for this year. See you all in 2011.
a regular poster, but I love these threads! Make my Crimbo complete...
to make a request for a pocketmouse stocking thread, I thought I'd give her some time and here it is! Amusing as ever, popcorn, tights and all.
Pocketmouse, as someone who has only watched studio ghibli anime (but loved) what else would you recommend?
A little bird tells me there might even be a mini-stocking this year....
Tune in some time obscenely early tomorrow morning to find out!
